MemberOvomorphSep-20-2012 8:55 AMThose links would upset Engineers so much... Piracy is sole reason why they want to destroy us...

I missed the link to the Last Battle Scene.... cant find that either.
But i know when my Blue-Ray comes i will get to see them for myself and also admire the many other extras...
Especially looking forwards to the "Gods were Angry" extra

MemberOvomorphSep-20-2012 1:00 PMA friend of mine is addicted to torrents and internet porn. His PC usually has a half-life of about six weeks before it becomes so infested with malware that a full system rebuild is required.

You mean a system restore?
Well if they are careful then they would be fine, i dont often use AV as i know roughly how infections occur and what to look for. being sensible and having script blocking and add blocking helps more so than the AV.
The AV is basically like you using a condom with someone you suspect may or may not have a STD.
The script blocker well basically stops you even going with that person, as it stops sites from launching malicious code.
I knew someone who was always having their PC hijacked via a Fake AV software that then disabled a lot of stuff and if your AV could not stop this software from installing and it removed your system restores then it was a pain to get rid off.
After he kept getting it over and over and it seemed to be connected with a torrent site, regardless of a few types of AV the software installed on his Laptop.
I then told him look put a Script Blocker on and do not allow that torrent site to use any scripts and he never had the problem again... until he decided to disable the Script Blocker and then visit the site and then bingo he got had again, as basically behind the site it was installing a malicious software via scripts.
A lot of times its common sense and trail and error.
If your looking for free Porn, or Free Games or Movies or other Free stuff then some sites that claim to do so will be malicious. Like if you was to look for a certain video, i mean someone could look to download for free Prometheus HD and get to a site and click play or download video.
And get a message you must install such a such player or such a such codec then your browser pops up saying do you want to download such a such exe file.
If you click yes then download it and run it and then get a Virus etc, then well thats there own fault.
Another problem is kids.... i have niece who sometimes knackers my PC up well gets crap on it from places like Facebook. Once i got Script Blocking it stropped most of it.
My nephew is even worse as he searches for free stuff and when the sites dont work he disables my protection... so i banned the buggers now, they only go on when i am there lol.
