MemberOvomorphSep-22-2012 7:36 AMThe author should be arrested and charged with murder. He has killed my love of the Sci-fy horror series Alien.
The screen play is pure drivel.
Did he expect a bunch of 5 year-olds to be watching it?
Did he not see any of the other movies before writing it?
The over-all concept was pretty good, but it was completely destroyed by the piss-poor reasoning put into this script. (for the author, definition of reasoning: the process of forming conclusions , judgments, or inferences from facts or premises)
I would like to list all the reasons I dis-liked this film, but all you have to do is read other post on this thread. The inconsistencies, plot holes, and idiocy in this script are over-whelming. My brains softened and began runninig out my ears after 10 minutes into the movie. How could you guys do this to a great genre! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

CULT
MemberOvomorphSep-22-2012 2:19 PMActually, basketball seems rather benign all things considered. And truth be told, if there was one cleaver devise in Prometheus at ALL, it had to the films tribute to the aforementioned scene of Pearlman and Weaver... No?

MemberOvomorphSep-22-2012 2:49 PMHuh. So the cinematography, the lighting, art direction, score, practical effects, all the thought and effort and dare I say love that went into this is less than worthless to you? Golly.

MemberOvomorphSep-22-2012 2:55 PM@ cult: so ...you come to a forum/website that is dedicated to discussing a film that you find devoid of any merit whatsoever? Im baffled. what a waste. I cant imagine going to a forum dedicated to... say....chairman of the board and wasting my time discussing the nuances of such a film. whatever. roll on.

MemberOvomorphSep-22-2012 2:55 PMMy thoughts exactly Major Noob. Whether you loved the movie or not a lot of people still but a lot of hard work into this and the art, lighting, effects (digital and animatronic; especially the pairing of the two) etc etc. were actually done quite well.

MemberFacehuggerSep-22-2012 3:50 PMTbh I thought it was 70 percent ridley 30 percent lindelof - I even remember lindelof saying how he basically wrote down what ridley said to him or words to that effect (before the film was out).....I thought the choice to go with the engineer idea was good but it probably didnt need to have anything to do with alien - would of been better to be a new universe....was a good film but not of ridleys proper standard unfortunatly :( ...anyway my opinion may change with the new parts hopfully :D ...and yer joey and major noob look like the same person to me :O - probably got other accounts 2 :P !
