Skull mountain significance?

Definetly a resemblence but I dont think there is a link. More of a nod to some of the Gieger stuff in my opinion,

i think it depicts the transformation from a humanoid form to a xeno-esque form brought on by the black goo housed within. Think: fifield's transformation as well as the humanoid(ish) skull that was visible in the xeno shown to us in Alien (no reference to alien insurrection imo).

It looks like an early Giger concept of the xeno's head. I saw a drawing just like it in Necrominon

It isn't the xeno from the Alien 4 movie, it was made for the failed DUNE project from the 70s that was going to be directed by Jodorowsky. It does reminisce of a skull and crossbones warning. There were supposed to be Temples like this in Alien but time and budget got in the way. Ridley added the temples back in as a nod to Giger. Probably it is a kind of homage to the franchise... Hope it ends there....I really hope it deviates totally from that franchise... I also noticed that and posted it in another thread... It also could enhance the idea of a military research facility...

Hi guys! Another newbie here! I think the skull is a clear warning of death, just like we have the skull and crossbones labelled on toxic substances. It's a warning for outsiders to keep out! Enter at your own risk - as we see in the film, the crew of Prometheus didn't heed that warning.

I agree on this, if we take the view that it is a weapn's research facility. It is a place to develop death, and thus the huge skull at the top. Fits the bill perfectly
