MemberOvomorphSep-27-2012 9:12 PMI was watching the "Engineer Speaks" deleted scene and someone on this thread said they believed that part of what the Engineer said was that "our (human) blood was corrupt". Interesting I thought. On this site we have speculated on why the Engineers wanted to detroy their experiment: we covered the Space Jesus theory to the possibility that we are being harvested as hosts for aliens or even that we were too warlike to being too headstrong and uncontrollable.
I think the reason they wanted to destroy us and start again was due to their perception that they had failed to create what they hoped for. As RS mentions in the 'Art of Prometheus' he envisioned the Engineers coming to Earth and doctoring with our DNA several times to develop us. I just wonder if humans failed to meet the physically/ physiological goals of the Engineers. Did he Engineers create us without consent from the Elders? Were they without gender and wished to create us in their image but with the ability to procreate & ensure theie species to grow? After all, we have not seen any female Engineers.
Or were we developed to be immune to being a host to the aliens? After all, in the ampule room (temple and alter) the human hed dominates the room and any other artwork of other species. The alien appears to be crucified and the fresco shows a cowering proto-alien like creature compared to an enigneer/human. Perhaps, the Engineers needed us to be immune so that we could we continue their work with the Black goo?
Today I have been dedicated to post on as many topics as possible until I pass out from drinking too many beers.

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 4:55 AMI watched Prometheus again and I came to this conclusions:
1. The Xenomorphs/Aliens truely existed before the events of Prometheus for at least several thousands of years and the black goo is actually Alien DNA codes that mutates any organic lifeform it touches.
2. This means the derelict ship on LV-426 really landed there long time ago.
3. The Deacon is NOT a proto-Alien but actually a new variant (combining Human and Engineer DNA.
4. No matter what the real reason is that the engineers wanted to depart to Earth 2000 years ago to infect mankind with the black goo, David said, in order to creat, you must destroy first. Which means the engineers wanted not to wipe all humans off the map without replacement, but the black goo would infect all humans and become monstrosities like Fifield or even lead to more Xenomorphs.
This means, for the engineers, we human were test objects to become bio weapons. But I also agree that the elders might have less aggressive intentions when they sacrificed one in the past.

MemberFacehuggerSep-28-2012 5:28 AMThis is why I thought the deacon was predicted to be coming and made by the humans in the mural we see - I really think it could be a vision of what is coming maybe made by an elder!
Maybe this was the reason for the engineers wanting to take the black goo to our world? The prediction of the making of the 'perfect being' or many many other possibles...
here we see teh enginner making the deacon:

As predicted.
And here we see the final product:

with all the swirlyness around it - it does look dream like...anyway - I was thinking maybe the 2nd mural above was the vision not so sure about the first one...

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 6:17 AMI see more in this pic than I first did a few weeks ago. Just above the gentlemen standing, to the right and left, are the elephant-looking space jockey helmets.
Look at the deacons head. Now look to the far left and right. I see the profile shot of two Alien xeno's. Their elongated head with their tale curling in below them.
And as much as I can agree with tossing out the queen concept, I can't help but see a very striking resemblance of a queen's crown above the deacon.

MemberFacehuggerSep-28-2012 9:39 AMWhat I think is interesting (although you couldn't see it very well in the movie due to lighting) are the facehuggers and humans/engineers on either side of the bottom of the mural, just like one of Giger's concepts not used in 'Alien'.

It could be only decoration based on the whole artist concepts used so far in the movies. Ancient ships had weeird looking images in front of them for protection and we have gargoyles in castles...that might be the sole thig on this mural.
Now if we want to see as depictions of something abput them, so yeah, that figure is indeed bowing and under the control of that engineer figure.
Yeah, there is that image from the original Giger's concepts...they are reusing a lot of old imagery
The image above the cross figure seems not conected with its head, so it might be just an added image to mesmerize , induce to what they did in previous movies without really bringing that thing back (to the VOID with all those frigging Queens, blame Cameron for that stupid Space Ants idea!)
And yet for thinking material, putting those images like that do conveys the image that the central figure is worshiped/honored by all the iterations around it.
OR, as it was a millitary installation, that image was just there to alert anyone working there of the dangers and risk of death in dealing with those bo-weapons, meaning that the main bio-weapon for a long time has been the xenos, as much as to its image being conveyed as the meaning of DEATH (like the atomic symbol we use or the international symbols to convey the warning of Dangerous Goods. THey are alien, so what we think of as a religious image might be only a label of Dangerous Goods - Risk of Death sign.
Another thing I liked here is the thing about corrupt blood.
If the first images were of a punishment being exacted on that alien, leading to our creation by accident, then we would be originated from a corrupt being (the one being executed) and maybe they (their central government) would deem us as Corrupt by Our Very Beggining, and what we see is indeed a splinter offshot of their culture, that respects/worships the one executed and deem us as their children (maybe he was the one that started some kind of revolution), but were attacked by their government and we would then be the next ones on the line of extinction, this all foreshadowing the Galactic Conflict raging out there, somewhere...
Ideas, but it would be fun if those were the real ones XD

With each post looking like an essay iIlearned a lot.
I thought the reference to corrpt blood was a reference top original sin. Something along the line that if humans continue to evolve they will never be pure, never godlike always a bit selfish never quite good enough in the eyes of their fathers..or other 'gods'./
We amy develop inot better humans but never gods in a grand scale of things.
I am sorry this thread ahas disappeared a bit. Interesting thoughts.
