MemberOvomorphOct-01-2012 7:21 AMWhat if the Engineers 'Paradise' turns out to be Earth.
It would tie in with the Ancient aliens and pre history civilisation theories.
Maybe they destroyed Earth in one way or another so had to leave, then reseeded it (beginning of film) and then had to wait around in hypersleep on distant moons to see the outcome.
We were obviously not part of the plan so they try to send a load of eggs our way (Derelict) which would kill us and most decent sized animal/mammals leaving an empty and flourishing Earth/Paradise.

Peter Weyland's first business venture was a bus company. Check out the rear end of this baby...

The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

Eh, intersting concept. Millions of years give a time span to a great civilization rise and move forward...
Well played this concept could be interesting.
But now, from the dialogues in the scenes being restored it seems they David talked about a more immediate place, a place they came prior to that moon, and they would not have only a small installation there if they were there for millions of years...
Anyway the concept is interesting

MemberDeaconOct-01-2012 11:37 AMWell Ridley will have to be careful with the interaction with Humans, as it will cause in continuity errors.
Paradise has to be a place that is beyond the reach of Earth Ships even in the time frame of Alien Resurrection as far as canon goes there appears to be no contact between Engineers and Humans apart from Prometheus mission and the Nostromos on LV 426.
So yes many plot holes could occur that Ridley has to avoid or fix, even before Prometheus the Space Jockey could be one, depends if any part of Weylands colonization of LV 426 ventured back on the Derelict as surely some would have been asking.... who was that dead Pilot?
