Giger's Prommy sketches

oh dear, is this THE END of Giger's skills as an artist? is this what an old man's sketch looks like? they were really awful (as far as anatomical form goes - yes, even in a sketch you'd have form) and continue to remind us that a) the film was Lindelof'd probably after these sketches arrived and b) the film was rushed to a [url=http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/10416]pre-London Olympics[/url] release date. Debate, discuss, deliver...

@ Cypher, Giger did Not do the Mural in the ampule chamber. I read an article about that, they were quoting the actual designer that she made it as a tribute to Giger. They should have simply opened necronomicon and just use one of those beautiful visulas. Well hope they do something like that in Paradise.

You know, yes i agree it shows that he isnt the same as he was, but he is very old so its understandable. Ridley respects him so much that he wanted Giger to just do kind of anything he can, even if just scribbles. For me, the failure is by those designers who did not manage to echo Giger's creepy style when designing the mural or that control room chair.

They're rough sketches, not Louvre entries. And I'm surprised Giger even agreed to do ANYTHING for these guys after he was shafted by Fox and Brandywine. Also, he DID do the really awesome mural in the Ampule chamber, remember. I thought that was beautiful and want one for my living room.

Some artist do basic sketches like writers and journalist would use short hand. Its to pitch a idea, when something comes in the head they just sketch it, then come back to that idea and if they like it, or who they are brainstorming with then they go and do a detailed version. Like song writers could just start to have words for a song come in their head and they just jot them down on a notepad.... then then latter add bits and re arrange them to then start to form a song. Thats not how all artiest work but how some do... Like a Carpenter or Architect would rough sketch something to vaguely put a idea to someone and then they do the detailed and accurate diagram and schematic after. Saying that we cant confirm these are from Giger can we?
