As of October 1, 2012, the film has earned $126,477,084 (31.5%) in North America and $275,456,369 (68.5%) elsewhere for a worldwide total of $401,933,453. To be honest with you I didn't believe that Prometheus will aim that target. Positively surprised:)

That is enough money to green light a sequel and I suspect that the sequel will also guarantee an additional sequel. And we have Blade Runner 2 to look forward to as well.

slightly off topic (but still having to do with prometheus sales etc.) ...As of 10/5/12, the Prometheus 2D blu ray set is outselling the Avengers blu ray set on amazon.com. Not too shabby considering the Avengers blu ray is currently on the shelves and the Prometheus blu ray doesnt hit for a couple of days. Ive got my Prometheus 4 disc blu ray set pre-ordered. Prometheus army! EDIT: woot! prometheus is #1 selling blu ray on amazon.com as of 10/6/12.
