AdminEngineerOct-03-2012 12:48 AMOkay, so everyone has been pretty sure Prometheus' sequel will be titled Paradise from the start, but still it was speculation.
UPDATE (Nov. 16th, 2015) The title has been confirmed as Alien: Covenant today by 20th Century Fox!
Hyped for: Alien: Romulus | Badlands (Predator 6) | Cloverfield 4

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:11 AMinteresting. HOWEVER, it looks as though the domain was registered in nov. of 2010 and that registration could potentially expire next month (correct me if im wrong...i could totally be wrong). That says to me that the abovementioned domain (paradise-movie.com) was probably grabbed up when the working title of prometheus was paradise. In case they went with "paradise" as a film title, they would have the appropriate domain etc. The domain could have nothing to do with the potential sequel??

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:14 AMwell it does make sense because technically where already in hell what with the government greed, work(slavery), and suffering with bills debt and people,so yup sound right to me

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:29 AMJoeyjoe,
I think you're right about the Created On and Expires On dates, but work is slavery, war is profit, religion (or Science) is mind control and bills are how you're governed, kept quiet.
Mortgage, car, taxes, economies, empire - this cannot equate with Freedom (on any planet).

AdminEngineerOct-03-2012 1:31 AM@joeyjoe, It is certainly possible! However, with the recent influence of the title "Paradise" in the deleted scenes, I'm sure Fox won't just leave it. Unless they plan to simply continue with the Weyland site - which would make sense.
Who knows, I thought it was interesting regardless. :)

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:42 AMCustodian, exactly what i mean, hell is a place for the suffering a place with selfishness, greed pain , you make money and the government take part of it away even before you receive it even after working your ass off, what i'm saying is that is how slaves are treated with little or no care just like us, we have to suffer to make a living, it's all about controls like empires Custodian said

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:46 AMwhy do you think they call space 'the heavens" or"where the gods lye" or "home to the gods" so Prometheus Paradise makes a shit load of sense

AdminEngineerOct-03-2012 1:53 AMDAVIS, you also bring up a good point! Last updated this past June, interesting as well! I know most domains can be set for "Auto-renew" by the registrar, as for companies not to forget to pay the bill. So it is probably what Fox has done with this. Talk about planning ahead though if this is the case!
But onuris, I like that idea, yeah, I think "Prometheus: Paradise" would be a cool title, instead of just "Paradise", don't you think? Then the third sequel could be "Prometheus: _____" to maintain the series' connotation.

Chris
AdminEngineerOct-03-2012 1:55 AMAh, but also remember Onuris, Prometheus was more than just the name of the ship, it was the entire underlying mythology behind the plot. I think to keep the Prometheus connotation would be a wise decision, personally. Keeps average joe film goers in the loop when the trailer comes out and also continues on with the mythology where Prometheus left off.

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 2:09 AMbasically there are only two options....either ridley and co. have KNOWN they were going to be doing a sequel from the beginning or the domain in question has nothing to do with a sequel (paradise=prometheus). Im hoping for the former, but am doubtful.

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 2:15 AMchris, i totally agree with you, but Prometheus was actually a titan in greek mythology, what i' m saying is that they have discovered prometheus and there connection between religion and science but, know they want to discover "paradise" or "Heaven" or even where the "gods" lye Prometheus believed in sacrifice for creation, according to the movie they have met there maker, but know there wanna know where it or they came from. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Prometheus?s=t

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 2:24 AMQuick question on mythology: was (then) the Garden of Eden NOT the first time such an event had been set in motion but the RESULT of a pre-cleansing, in potentially a series of pre-cleansings.
Get rid of the old to create the new?

They bought it up the same time it was ORIGINALLY called Paradise, simples

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 5:33 AMYes. I thought the original working title was Paradise.
Having said that, Paradise would be a great title for a follow-up IMO. Simple, to-the-point and... deceptive.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent
zzplural
MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 8:00 AMDeceptive, yes.
Paradise implies exactly that. From what we know of what paradise will turn out to be, not. Therefore, a deception.

MemberDeaconOct-03-2012 11:26 AMWell was Prometheus not originally going to be called Paradise prior to they started shooting the movie, and Lindelof came on board and Prometheus was instead used?
Also Ridley had said that he always felt Prometheus would lend itself to a sequel and it appears he plans there to be 2 sequels so maybe Paradise and the 3rd, something related to Hell?

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 1:10 PMi agree Big Dave, but ZZplural haven't you been reading the previous comment, technically where in hell, it's no point to call a movie paradise if it's going to be about hell, the star are so post so be Heavens remember, that is where they are trying to go hens PARADISE, if that is even what it is going to be called
jujutsuka
MemberOvomorphOct-03-2012 3:07 PM@onuris,
Depends on from whose perspective paradise is perceived. It may very well be that the Paradise encountered in the sequel is a paradise for the Engineers/other beings, but a Hell for others (re: Shaw, whatever other human cast we see).
Re: stars, some perceive them as the heavens, but in a very technical sense, they are their own flavor of hell. Get too close to one and bam, you're insta-toast--immolated at an atomic level and all that fun stuff. Atoms to atoms, stardust to stardust. :)

Any of the above postings can be right, and on the " Prometheus: .......... " would be, aesthetically, really interesting. I like it and will make sure no confusions will be done about what is being released...

MemberOvomorphOct-07-2012 12:31 PMParadise is the project name for Scott since more than 2 years. But it is also on of the most used name in cinema and TV movies. So i really doubt that it will be the next movie name ^^

MemberOvomorphOct-21-2012 5:55 PMPrometheus sequel, next stage could be named: "Paradise, Heaven, Eden" in this order, I m whith you, and I m wondering if Engineer s paradise is our own "heaven concept", you know, with angels..., or maybe satanical, gotic, probably a land of darkness, Gigers planet! Who knows.

MemberOvomorphOct-31-2012 5:54 PMI believe I read quite a while ago that when the alien prequel was in its infancy the film wasent going to have any human characters in it so it will be interesting to see if we do have a sequel set on the engineers world with no humans in it.paradise sounds like a good title but I'm not sure fox would use paradise as a title from a cut scene.now everyone dont get impatient and get Ridley and fox to rush a sequel lol we want the next film to be as fresh as prometheus I want them to take their time with it.ive seen too many rushed crap follow ons the last couple of years.

MemberOvomorphOct-31-2012 6:00 PMI rember a couple of years ago when the alien prequel was being toyed around with ideas about the film being set on the engineers world with no humans in it at all.so it could be an old title but you never know Ridley might make another film with that title I'm hopeing the next film is as fresh as prometheus and that they don't rush and make a crap one.
