MemberOvomorphOct-07-2012 11:18 AMjust watched looper , what a fantastic movie. I´ll have to watch it again as there are many nice ideas in it.
I´m not the biggest Willis fan, but twelve monkeys is one of my faves..looper certainly has some good blade runner, 12 monkeys, even Terminator genes..

MemberOvomorphOct-07-2012 11:20 AMI quite liked Looper, even though it was stuffed full of faults. Anyone who thinks Prometheus doesn't make much sense should go on a starter course with Looper.
I can't see myself watching it more than once, though.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

MemberOvomorphOct-07-2012 11:40 AMwell, after the dissapointment with Prometheus (plot holes, bad character development, dialogues etc etc, please no further discussions here ;) ) this was quite nice..Of course movie concepts with timeline changing/ time travel are somewhat funny..but twelve monkeys or T1 are classics..
cheers

Also, have to say that Judge Dredd was amazing if you haven't seen it.

Yer looper was interesting just for being original but for me the way they portrayed time travel didnt add up! I mean at the end he shoots himself so his older self disappears but surely he would disappear and the boy and woman due to his older self not coming back in time and starting the whole stake out at teh house etc....and many more bits like that...but was quiet well written in parts and not a awful film...Do not understand the review - like 94 percent or something :O !
I laughed when they were talking with each other (older and younger self) and they started to talk about time travel and he slams his fist on the table and says it doesn't matter! And so they never explain the ins and outs of time travel in the movie - bit of a cop out!
"It's almost as if they are making it up as they go along" :D

right, its pretty interesting HOW time travel would actually be possible. Movies like 12 m
or Star Treck IV where they alter something in the 20th century ( whales) and then take it back to their future..
Maybe some scientists wouldnt agree with that concept, so what are your takes? I mean real life time travel.
I tend to say, if it was possible and you would somehow be able to ´reintegrate´ physically into an older time, it would appear in a different, parallel/ possible or probable time / space line. Or Maybe it is NOT possible to ´reincarnate ( or dissapear) instantly´physically in any timeline..
I think we already live in uncountable possible realities every day. Our body, soul and mind are just programmed for this world and are not very conscious of the actual reality of the psyche. e.g. younger/ older selfes ( of yourself ). Is it true that these actually DO exist, that means, PARALLEL? In the past (an older self) present (actual body) or future form..
possibly..(in what form? if not physically)
what I really liked in loopers was the idea of a future thing appearing in present time via remembering or decisions..
cheers
