MemberOvomorphOct-08-2012 10:04 PMFelix Baumgartner will jump from 23 miles (120,000 feet) up in space.
Red Bull will livestream the jump — Baumgartner’s space suit includes five hi-def cameras — and we’ll carry the whole thing right here. The feed goes live at 6:30 a.m. Mountain standard time (8:30 a.m. Eastern), and lift-off is slated for 6:57 a.m. (8:57 a.m. Eastern). Baumgartner is expected to land between 10 and 10:30 a.m. (12:30 p.m. Eastern) and arrive back at Mission Control for a briefing by 10:45 a.m.
It will only take him 8 minutes to freefall to Earth, so tune in around 12 noon EST.
Felix will be attempting to be the first freefall person to go faster than the speed of sound (750 mph at sea level).
You can watch it live at : http://www.redbullstratos.com/live/

MemberOvomorphOct-09-2012 9:49 AMToo bad they didn't make the capsule large enough for two. It'd be totally sweet if the other crew member could don a spacesuit that looks like an Alien and "chase" Felix back to Earth. Hehehe.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

Why can't NASA build excitement like this and have 6.5 million people tune into YouTube? More people tuned in to see the retirement of Endevor through the LA streets...and then asked why it was retired...
Great PR by redbull and amazing stamina by Felix pulled this off. Wait till you see him spinning uncontrollably in the troposphere...takes my breath away...
Cheers to all you Prometheus fans...yes I have my 4 BD...now I have to buy a 3D TV...lol
