I think Engineers created us so that we cherish them as gods and serve them. Xenomorphs are just a weapon dropped on planets to eradicate Engineer's failed/disobedient creations. Furthermore I believe the only true Xenomorphs bust out of Engineers infected by facehuggers, in either a sacrifice ritual or an accident like on LV264. That's probably how Queen Xenomorphs are created. Which also explains why the Deacon was so half assed. It had a bunch of Human/Giant Squid DNA in it, and the result wasn't a proper Xeno.

Idk really, perhaps engineers thought that we were out of control spreading like a virus ala the Matrix and decided enough was enough. Actually I prefer Kast irons reasoning better, The engineers wanted to make slaves out of us, either that or the "work for minimum wage scenario" lol. Have no idea, come on then ridley ! give us one bad assed, twisted reason why humans were a product or bi-product of the engineers devilish experiments, Food for another species that was ending up posioning them and that's why we had to be killed off....maybe???????

Yea you are right. i believe the engineers are more like farmers and certainly DEATH SMITHS. arent weapons only invented if you have enemies ?. engineers are not a friend to any life form. they where at war with an opposing better life form that perhaps detested the engineers savage unkindly nature and this conflict, swung around our galaxy for aons. there will be regions of space where species of life are grouped. unlike earth in which we are lucky to be remote. these engineers are beaten.. but i believe they still exist in small groups inside some hidden retreat......where they are best kept. outa sight and sound. absolute bad asses. furthermore.... for god's sake critics... give ridley a chance. the original story board of alien consisted of encountering a pyramid and recovering a pilots head. read your1979 making book of alien if you have one. i think ridley's doing a great job bringing you the genesis of how it all was before these franchise films began. difficult to say what came first the chicken or the egg....or the black goo or the facial hugger or the queen ? only the engineers know why. and as i say they are more like death-smiths in my view. and i believe there is more to come....something more hideous than decons and wrecked ancient civilisations.....40 0r so light years away.... wait and see.

certainly its possible. im not sure if it was the plan all along, but i do suspect- although david says " sometimes to create, one must first destroy" -that perhaps the plan was not to destroy the human race but to evolve or mutate it into something new... i get this impression just from watching the film and what begins to happen to fifield and holloway as well as from some of the suggestions that ridley scott and damon lindelof have made. but who knows, in the end its an interesting mystery.
