MemberOvomorphOct-15-2012 4:24 PMThis is a thread started specifically to address any and all of the special features on the 3D Blu-Ray, including the deleted scenes, audio commentaries, alternate beginning and ending, and the Furious Gods: Making of Prometheus documentary. Please share any details of plot info that helps to answer any mysteries or plot info left out of the movie.
I have only seen two deleted scenes so far, the engineer speaks, and the scene with Vickers and Janeks. The engineer speaks I thought revealed a very nice insight as to why the engineer seemed so angry and decided to attack the humans. Appears he was offended by Weyland asking for more life, and possibly offended by the idea of an artificial being speaking to him. Please share your thoughts about the special features!

MemberOvomorphOct-15-2012 5:41 PMThis appears to be another section of this site that addresses the Furious Gods documentary but also other material on the blu-ray disk. As I said in the other, any true fan of Prometheus must see this documentary as it is loaded with information regarding many many aspects of how this script came together all the way to how they shot all the amazing special effects. I have never seen such a sophisticated process in the making of a movie. The pre-Vis scenes I have never seen done before. For those of you who are familiar with the term, they basically take a hand drawn storyboard such as Ridley Scotts famous Ridleygrams, and convert it in one day into a video game quality mock up of the same material that in many cases winds up looking like the final choices in the scenes they shot and doctored with special effects such as CGI. They are really becoming very sophisticated in their techniques nowadays than they used to be. But Ridley Scott also went back to some of the older mechanical building that has almost become a lost art, with the idea that if you can shoot a scene it is both better and even less expensive then CGI though most people don't realize this. The questions that it wont answer is the whys of the finished movie, and that is fine since they plan on making sequels and if they answered too many why questions there would not be sufficient material to work with down the line. If this were going to be the only solo work then everyone would be justified with all of the unanswered questions such as Dr Shaw is asking: "Why did they make us and then change their minds and decide to destroy us?"

MemberOvomorphOct-16-2012 8:53 AMDavid: This old fart seems to think he deserves to live forever - grab the nearest heavy object and beat him in the head with it.
Engineer: Ummm, ok.
In Space, no one can hear you fart.

From what I could tell this is how it went, the engineer awoke and asked "Why are you here and what do you want"
And David says "He is here because he thinks you can grant him more life"
Engineer "Why do you think you deserve more life"
David "He is a creator, like you, a god that doesn't wish to die"
That last line might not be correct but you get the jist of it. And the engineer seemed pissed and killed weyland lol

MemberOvomorphOct-16-2012 12:41 PMOr the "enhanced version":
David: "This old fart seems to think he ....."
Engineer: "WTF? You morons woke me up for this?"
David: "Ahem......sorry - this old"
Engineer: "Hey, who is the cute guy with the chest bumps? Me likey - hubba hubba"
David: "Pay Attention! Jayzus almighty.....now this old f*cker wants to live forever so please pick up the nearest object and BEAT HIM TO DEATH".
Engineer: "Oh okay - come'ere and let me feel the bumps on that pointed head of yours....."
The rest is cinematic history.

MemberOvomorphOct-17-2012 3:27 PMWelp looks like the issure of whether or not there was another door in the ampul room has been solved. A forum member, Engineering, has started that on the blu ray, Ridley specifically says the engineers escaped through a trap door somewhere in the ampul room. Could the Mural be that door? Check out this pic of the mural in my other thread here to get a good look at it.

MemberOvomorphNov-03-2012 8:00 PMIn the extended version there is much more dialog going on but David does not translate the part about Weyland "being creative like him and therefore a God and Gods live forever so fix me" Instead the Engineer touches his fingers out of curiosity while Weyland rants on and without waiting for a translation solves all Weyland's problems in one swing of David's head. Apparently he got the gist of what Weyland must have been whining about and reacted accordingly.
