Thats a cool idea, would be nice too see how the engineers actually use their weapons. And why they use them.

I would like to see the original Space Jockey in LV-426 and why they changed the eggs for urns.

other opening could be the origin of Engineers and a second race of gods in the process.

I'm hoping that most of the sequel is about the SJ and Engineers, the story line of Shaw and David does not show up until towards the end of the 1st sequel.... this will leave the 2nd installment for Shaws answers, and 3rd installment the story regarding LV 426, the xenomorph, SJ story prior of the Nostomo arriving
I should reach the frontier in about 6 weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo....

All cool ideas. I wonder if lv426 is the ending scene to the series; however many they make? Or maybe they leave lv426 out of it.

@ Shambs I agree with you. I would like to see a movie that tells the story about the original Space Jockey in LV-426 and the evolution of the creature we know as "alien" from Ridley's original Alien. However, I would also like to see some sort of story of the journey of David and Shaw...

@Albert West and @thegoodtimesguru,
Ridley already said that the Engineer of LV-426 has stranded thousands of years...(2200 years maybe)...so that's why I postie that comment and I think that the opening may be the perfect moment to answer that question, flashback style. The Deacon is not an ancestor, may be a new variant or an updated version of the bioweapon.
Anyway, it is possible that this sequel just has to do with the Engineers (their culture, social organization, purposes, etc.)

My first post BUT...
Couldnt LV426 be there home planet? That would put a hudge twist to the whole Alien trilogy IMO.

^It didn't look very developed. And it didn't seem to have much evidence of them living there.

Prometheus has been a breath of fresh air for the "Alien" franchise. There are now so many areas to explore. If the Engineer on LV-426 is thousands of years old and one were to make a movie about this engineer then we are talking about a prequel that goes back 2000 years before Prometheus. So we end up with a prequel of the prequel..... In theory, the possibility of a series of movies is endless. In reality a lot would depend on what the fans want and who in the movie world would take on such projects.....
