Why not just leave a hair for DNA at the start and if it was evolution with that strand of DNA why was there wall paintings of the stars etc, did they come back & visit us? MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION... Was that ship (j) @ end of movie meant 2 be the one in A 1 & 2, or was it a different ship on different planet?? Cause there is no1 in the chair with their chest blown out (the main image in A 1 & 2), and their are no other canisters ever found, and where did the eggs come from in later movies, the alien in the end of this movie didn't have the Headgear 2 be a queen?? It can't be the same ship, right?

Prometheus doesent even take place on the same planet as in Alien and Aliens. The planet is called LV233 in prometheus, and in alien its called LV426. That answers your question concerning the ship, No its not the same ship as in Alien and Aliens. Plus, this is a stand alone movie, and its been said so from the start almost. It takes place in the same universe as Alien, but is not a direct prequel. I dont relly understand what you meen with the "hair in the beginning"?

And yes they have been comming back to visit us trough the years, ofcorse they have, the last time they were about to come back was 2000 years ago, david says this after examining the hologram on the bridge of the juggernaut. Have you seen the movie? The answer to all your questions is actually mentioned in the movie, directly or indirectly.

there is actually a pretty good theory that the eggs on the derelict ship in Alien is cocooned engineers. Actually in the original Alien there was scene cut out, and it shows Some sort of nest where the xeno keeps his victims and one of them is breaking apart and morphing in to an egg. This was the original idea, Ridley scotts idea, The queen is something James Cameron came up with when i made Aliens. I personally dont like the Queen idea, but everybody on this site has a different opinion about that.

Yet in The Furious Gods: The Making Of Prometheus, Ridley Scott says, and I quote, "It's essentially a prequel" @smegheaD, for 20 odd years I wanted to know how the Space Jockey ended up on that planetoid with a hole in his chest and why he had a hold full of Alien eggs. I don't know if I will ever find out in this lifetime, unless perhaps I do the damn thing myself for you all..........................

Yea... those questions have been asked to death already ... no offense! Ridley has said it tons of times .. it is not a direct sequel and it would take two more films to get to.to alien.. I don't like queen idea either... how about this question ... if David and company knew the engineers were headed to earth to destroy us... WHY WAKE HIM UP???... I know.. because weyland .. blah blah... but if Shaw could convince a guy to.fly into the ship ... just saying...

Thanks, but I wasn't interested until 2day, more of a Sigourney & Arnie fan (P1) anyway. And if it hasn't got anything 2 do with A1 ship then I still don't care but thanks heaps 4 answering my questions & saving me the time of watching it properly. Sometimes im just a SmegheaD!

You're saying that leaving a single hair for DNA would be enough because every cell contains the same DNA, right? That would make them look pretty stupid, but they probably wanted many more cells. The engineer who died at the beginning could have been executed in that way, to be forced to de-evolve like so. He went willingly enough, it seemed, but if he was given no choice he might have done the same.

And was the engineer put in cryo or stasis, whatever it was, by someone else, why didnt he just fly the ship 2 earth I'm the first place? Or did I miss that 2. And thanks 4 DNA answer, yes that's what I meant.
