The Captain? In any other story the Captain(Think Captain Kirk) knows the details,,makes decisions..and and instructs all of the crew.what to do..in the best interests of the mission and crew..
Vickers? She certainly thinks she is running the Show ..but all are rebellious top her behind the scenes leadership..In fact she doesn't display any leadership....
Shaw?...She seems to be the victim of all of the adventures,,and really doesn't lead anyone..but with the story being told through her eyes,,,it is hard to escape her influence..
David? He is an outside player...going around others seemingly having his own agenda.. A character used by others,,,but not the one that others seek out for leadership..
I could go on,.but consider this.. In any other story if there is a life threatening problem,,who do othwer turn to for leadership?
In Prometheus..it is more of Mission by Committee..with no overall leader to deal with the various serious episodes or charactors experience,,

He tells the crew that Holloway and Shaw are in charge, as far as they are concerned.
But, of course, he is just in hyper sleep.
And, even then, his secret weapon David is tasked with actually taking charge of events.

And there is Vickers closing the loading ramp not only during the sandstorm..but also when Holloway was infected.. She could exert her power in those two scenes,,
Could Janak have made that decision?..Shaw...even David..if in fact getting Holloway on board would have compromised the ship..crew or mission?
Maybe Vickers is right,,,but that would imply that she had greater knowledge than any other crew member It still seems like there are several Vice Presidents,,,but not one who was accountable for overall mission..during the movie..
Each had their area of interest,,had had a featured scene,,or scenes.

MemberOvomorphOct-22-2012 6:10 PMvickers seems to be responsible for most of the logistics/day to day organization of the crew (a part from all things science. at the end of the day, its clear she doesnt care about much other than staying alive and hopefully preserving some slight sense of order). However, vickers is just a temporary step-in for Weyland (as it pertains to logistics). Weyland is the man... period. David is Weyland's proxy. Ultimately, i agree with with NCC, david is pursuing weyland's agenda...ergo, david is really in charge.
