In almost every scene in the Pyrimid explorations,,David is separate from the group,,doing what he feels is important,,,not what the scientist are looking at.
And if they are together,,well David is not really co-operative,
When Shaw says not to touch anything,,David is openning doors,,not caring what is on the other side,,
Thinking back to Alien..Ash always seemed to be with various crew members interacting,,advising,,or sharing information..
I found David's attitude quite different,,,,and disturbing..

I tried the search,,bit no results..
This thread was started after recent viewing of the movie and notice the number of scenes that always had David somewhere..where others were searching for him..
It just an observation..

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 12:18 AMGo back and watch Alien again, Indy. Ash is withdrawn to study the facehugger while he has it; he definitely had his own agenda. Ripley even calls him out on it for not being useful and for going against her orders.
The fact that David is aloof from the group is part of what makes his character more interesting, even if his intentions aren't entirely clear.

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 6:28 AMIt has been awhile since an 'Alien' viewing...and your comments reminded me of what was actually portayed..
When 'Alien'..appears on cable I'll give it a look.
David aloof,,certainly adds depth to his charactor,,
David as a future 'God' has been mentioned on a thread,,,,,but that would take quite a leap of faith as this point of the Prometheus storyline..

Where did David get the idea that people want their Parents dead?
From Weyland perhaps,,but it would the kind of idea that came from another human..with still another agenda..

On a related matter..
David removed Shaw's cross,,,before the birthing..and then gave it back to Shaw,,later.
In fact why did David even keep the Cross....and then tell her about it?
