MemberOvomorphOct-22-2012 3:46 PM The opening sequence data states 17 crew members.. Really? for a ship this size?
I am not saying there should be hundreds on board,,,but watching the Prometheus interior shots,,,it seems like there is a capacity for many more than what are shown in the film..
As it had been mentioned that it was essentially a one way trip for Weyland to meet his makers...why such an elaborate,,spacious,,vessel?
Could there be hidden compartments?/

MemberOvomorphOct-22-2012 4:17 PMNostromo and Sulaco were much larger with less crew. I don't think the Sulaco even had a flight crew. Automated, i guess
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

THanks for reminding of crew sizes on other ships..
I still recall seeing one of the Space Capsules (replica) Grand Turk and how small it seemed for the astronaut..
I would be curious as to how many crew members that we actually see in the movie..
Is David considered to be crew member?
It doesn't appear to be many other hidden of the crew,,What you see is what you get..

Why are people of power always compensating for something?
Maybe too much is never enough?

MemberOvomorphOct-22-2012 5:18 PMGiven that the Prometheus is a "exporation" vessel, significant portions of the ship are set aside for said purpose. Remember it houses 7 all terrain vehicles in addition to all the other equipment on board.

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 12:21 AMThe Prometheus is actually probably larger than the Nostromo. The Nostromo was a space tug towing a massive mining platform behind it. It's the equivalent to an eighteen wheeler freight truck.
Also, more crew members means more life support systems: air, food, water, etc. It is space after all.
