MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 9:30 AM In watching the scenes with everybody going back to meet the Final Engineer. David responds to a Weyland question..with 'Cargo Bay'..(or was it 'Hold'?).
To me that term would definately be used with a vessel of some type..rather than a cave storage area..which was my assumption all along till Janek discovered the truth.
Another indication in my mind that David knows more..far more than what has been revealed..

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 9:57 AMI believe David said it was a "cargo hold".
Yes, he pretty much knew what was going on by then. Although, by his own admission a few minutes later, he'd only worked out "the broad strokes". But he certainly knew (or believed) that the Engineers were intent on destroying humanity, and how. "Sometimes, in order to create one must first destroy".
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 11:01 AMYes definitely "cargo hold"... so what's in it?
By the way i rewatched the movie this week end with Ridley Scott commentary on and he says towards the end that the line "Sometimes in order to create one must first destroy" is from ... Joseph Staline, creepy isn't it.

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 1:48 PMYes it is a chilling statement..but the timing is what got my attention..David sort of says this as if to prepare us (and Shaw)..for the worst.

MemberOvomorphOct-27-2012 2:58 AMDavid should have warned everyone if he knew the engineers were so hostile. It must have been a forgone conclusion to him what would happen if Weyland talked to the engineer as he planned, and he was just going through the motions with an attitude of "I will answer your questions, and so what you say, but I hope you die so I won't offer any real help".

It seems to me that David seemed to know the most what was going on in the story..though not knowing his motives/programing the results are pretty clear:
Prometheus has been destroyed....Starting with 17 crew members it is just David and Shaw that have survived..No Engineers around(as far as we know)
He may not have forseen the actual events as they unfolded,,,but the results might be close to what he wanted,,
The Xeno has been left on the moon and he and Shaw are heading to the Engineers world,, Is this a new world for David?..or place to meet old friends..?
