Early Engineer concepts much more scary-looking

On the Blu-Ray extras in the 'Art of' section under 'creatures' there are some early Engineer designs and some of them are of just the head and neck with a much more weathered look with larger craniums, staring eyes and Frankenstein-like features. They are truly scary looking. Maybe someone can post a pic here of the ones I mean - the likeness is of a cross between Michael Berryman of 'The Hills Have Eyes' and 'Lurch' 'from 'The Addams Family'. Maybe Ridley Scott was referencing these early designs when he promised to "scare the living s**t out of us".

I'm really glad he chose to create them how they ended up in the final movie. I was watching The Furious Gods: Making of Prometheus and I think portraying them almost like the Roman paintings of Zues and such was the best way to go. Big and God-like.

Hey CRYSiiSx2, I see you're new here, welcome! Cool signature by the way, really cool. As for the OP - I agreeZetaReticuli, there were a lot of really interesting unused concepts. But you know, I'm happy with how the Engineer turned out. The pitch black eyes and near-fluorescent white skin was neat. And the pressure suit looked incredible in my opinion. Now the concepts for the Trilobite, from Spaiht's original draft, now THAT is something I would have liked to see make its way into the theatrical release.

Yes, the potential was there for Prometheus to be a lot better.

I love the Engineer we got, especially in the pressure suit! The floating jelly-fish idea for the Space Jockey was a joke, to me. IMO - What would be more terrifying than finding out that all we had heard of ancient myth & legend was true!
