THere is road(like the one where Prometheus landed)..that goes directly to the entrance of the Pyramid in our story,,passed a wall surrounding the structure,
THer is not a lot of room between the ship and the Bee Hive dome,,seemingkly a perfect place to hid a Juggernaut underground,
There is also a road dirctly behind each pyramid that connectd directly to the next pyramid,,and then the next one,
I presume our ship landed at the first one in line.
What I did not notice was a parrallel road to the left of Ptometheus,,that bypasses all of the Bee Hives,,which I suspect was a an access road to get from the forst to the last Pyramidmmin the event that all of the Juggernauts were activated,,the roads were far enough out of the way for others at get around the arising Engineer ships.
The scene generated several questions,,mostly abut the Engineers,,
*All the Bee Hives Looked the same,,No Headquarters,
*No Landing field,, Surely there would have been some off world ships that eventually..no matter how many centuries (in our time references)landings
* No other buildings of any type are scene,,, None in this area,,curious,.
What or why were there roads at all? No cars or trucks,,or any kind of ground conveyance was seen that the Engineers might have used,,even in the tunnels.

MemberOvomorphNov-05-2012 3:47 PMWell first and foremost, I think we can all rule out that this is NOT their homeworld. It is most likely a military depot, so there's not going to be any headquarters type of structure. Who knows what the roads were used for, afterall everything that happened there, happened 2000 years before Prometheus touched down. Who's to say they didnt have machines (for building) that were traveling on these roads. You have to build these pyramids somehow right?

MemberOvomorphNov-06-2012 9:16 AMThe film just doesn't show us enough of LV 223 to judge what the roads were for, and while it is safe to assume that every other pyramid has more juggernauts below it, if this is the case, it would be disappointing to me because I'd rather see a variety of ships. Land vehicles would also be very interesting, as well as some barracks and other living facilities.

MemberOvomorphNov-07-2012 12:58 AMWhen recently watching the landing scene,,I saw more clearly that the Prometheus landed in front of the first pyramid in line.
What I didn't notice was that the road continues behind where our ship lands,,,far beyond it.
No other construction is in view. To my mind it was a road built with a purpose. A road that goes deeper into the unseen valley.
Though a small item in the total scheme of things to me it signfies that there is still much more to learn about this moon.
I have mentioned the roads before,,,but the length of the landing road..straight,,no connection to the parallel road,,,leads to speculation answered in a future episode.
Some threads have speculated that this moon was used for manufacturing goo. This road could lead to the actual manufacturing plant,,with the road used to supply the goo to the storage areas in the pyramids on board the Juggernauts, It would sort of a way to compartmentize a dangerous WMD.

That's a very good idea. Very creative and logical. In time, you and others on this site can create a working model of LV 223, showing things happening in a typical day when the base was still being used.
