MemberOvomorphNov-27-2012 8:43 PMIn my humble opinion the next Predator movie should have a reference to prometheus. I think the next predator should have a clan that abducts people and leads them to another planet, but not loose at once as seen in the movie Predators. These predators keep people in cages, and they remove the cages one by one, and inject them exactly the same black liquid prometheus film, so that the person becomes a mutant strong and violent. After the mutant is loose in the forest and predators will hunt. After returning to the skull mutant predators take another person's cage and repeat the process.

MemberChestbursterNov-27-2012 9:35 PMi think that could be a cool scene in a predator movie, but no one wants to make abnother avp type of movie. i understand that this is just a thought and it isnt an actual avp movie, but making another reference to alien in predator movies(or vice versa) won't be enjoyable for a great number of fans of either and both universes. but a future predator movie copuld become very interesting with predators manipulating dna and what not. if they startyed injecting things into people or other extraterrestrial/terrestrial beings then that could be a great addition to the predator universe

MemberOvomorphNov-27-2012 10:38 PM@OP: sounds like an utterly horrible idea. i would just completely give up on the franchise(s) if 20th century fox did such a thing.

MemberOvomorphNov-28-2012 5:53 AMIt would be good to have another predator film, but keep it away from prometheus. Maybe do a predator prequel, could even go back further on life on earth, and predator would fight some cowboys or samurais.

MemberOvomorphNov-29-2012 6:21 PMThere are some people that cannot leave the predator/alien universe alone. Its an idiotic idea at best.

MemberOvomorphNov-29-2012 7:59 PMI think like it or not, it would be terrible to disappoint the fans by invalidating the AvP story-lines, or not doing any more. Maybe the next AvP should take place in the future, in space, but the movies serve their purpose as comic, monster-fight movies kind of like Godzilla.
With Prometheus, sadly, I think that its purpose is to stand alone even from alien, with deep "questions" about the origins of life and the dangers Ridley Scott has in mind for outer space and who created us. These films are meant to sicken, and frighten, and upset, with aliens bursting out of people, and lots of religious and even sexual symbolism. AvP, in this respect, is refreshing because the creatures become "like toys" to us, safe and less unsettling to play with in our imaginations.
To me, that Ridley Scott even considered making the story behind the engineers in Prometheus "about Jesus and his crucifixion", shows that the kind of genuine, really new science fiction he originally came up with "wasn't interesting to him anymore". The space jockey, for example, inspired Prometheus, but we ended up with this, and on a smaller scale with the space jockey being replaced by a "large human inside a suit".
Ridley has discarded so much of what he could have done here, but with this site, and the many fine contributions to the film and their futures that fans can make, I am optimistic for the future. First and foremost, perhaps, Prometheus 2 should try to go back to sci-fi and away from Christianity, "as fast as it can".

MemberOvomorphNov-29-2012 8:03 PMI would add that the engineers are quite interesting as they are, with the movie making us ask so many questions to learn the story (with no need for actual religious symbolism). As the engineers could have created life, the predators could have seen to the battle-testing of such life. I'd give them the dominant place in the galaxy, over the engineers or anything else to come along.

MemberOvomorphNov-29-2012 8:06 PMIn ancient times, contests of a sort could have been underway to see who could breed the most powerful species. To some extent, guidance and oversight would be supplied to the intelligent species, and their threat-capability assessed so the parent races know when to expect any danger and when to accept them as trading partners, etc. On Earth at least, these older races grew an intelligent species, which was capable of reaching them in the stars someday.
I am very intrigued by why the engineers wanted to wipe us out, if they did, only I will have to keep my fingers crossed that they can come up with something better than hijacking a real religion and offending countless people in the process.

MemberChestbursterDec-01-2012 10:16 AMif there was a competition for who could make the most powerful species, then the engineers created humans and that leaves the room in the story for predators to create the xeno, then the engineers were trying to recreate or counter them and all the prometheus and alien events happened. but, i dont really think that should be put into a movie. although i would watch another avp movie for sure
