Big Things Have Small Beginnings - Introducing Scified.com!

For the last month I've been leaking tid bits of information on the SB about our progress on a new network home site. Well, tonight I am proud to introduce you all to [b]Scified[/b] - a massively improved version of the previous [i]ScifiMoviesNetwork.com[/i] network. Over the course of this month and throughout December, the staff and I will be moving the sites that are currently on SciFiMoviesNetwork (SFMN) to the new and improved Scified Network. Each site will under go an improvement as well and will receive a multitude of design enhancements and feature enhancements! SEARCH ENHANCED: Members, News and Topics[/b] Yes, it was a long time coming, the search function on Scified now search through news, forum topics and members! [b]2. My.Scified - Personal Social Networking Portal[/b] My.Scified.com is where new users will be directed to register a new account. It is also where you will be directed to after logging in on Scified.com. My.Scified is a personalized mini-site that lets you track posts and news on people you [b]FOLLOW[/b] - more on that next! [b]3. FOLLOW Your Friends![/b] I have changed the "Friends" feature seen here on Prometheus-Movie.com to a "Follow" feature on Scified. When you FOLLOW a user, you subscribe to their threads and posts, which are organized for you in your My.Scified page! [b]4. Members Sorting[/b] The members page on Scified now allows you sort members by last active, all, newest users, staff only and online. [b]5. Social Plugins[/b] Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus plugins have been improved and added throughout various sections of the site, making sharing your content even easier than before! [b]6. New Profile Pages[/b] Profile Pages have been redesigned on Scified. Also, as the current "SFMN" sites are transferred to the new Scified site, any links to a user's profile will be directed to their local profile on Scified, instead of locally on any given site. [b]7. FEATURED News and Topics[/b] Staff and I can now "FEATURE" any particular forum discussion or news article on any site. These will organize these articles/posts in a separate tab on the forum homepage or index page allowing you to browse popular topics at any given time without cycling through pages of threads. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// This update has been a very long time coming guys and the staff and I have been working on this for months getting it just right. When you visit Scified, you will also notice we're running a "Game Achievement Helper" campaign, where experienced gamers volunteer their time to help beginners or anybody wishing to improve their stats and scores. The current game we're currently assisting with is the ever so popular (and fun!) [b]Halo 4[/b]! And yes, Scified now covers a wider range of sci-fi topics, NOT just movies! Talk about Sci-Fi movies, games, TV series and comics/novels! We're covering it all now! [b]WHAT IS STILL TO COME:[/b] The plan is, to have all the sites completely connected, meaning new posts and threads from any site will be fed to your My.Scified.com portal page, instead of scattered across each site. This will be a steady process, so as usual I ask that you bear with us as we continue to improve the community and sites for you. But very soon, Prometheus-Movie.com and the rest of the SFMN fan sites will be hosted and redesigned to fit the new Scified.com network!
