Please let me know what you think.
Thank you.
***EDIT***
I'm slowly adding the rest to the main article bit by bit instead of splitting the article in two.
Wow......
Xeno_Alpha that is such an interesting blog!!
so much info!!
Thanks for sharing it :)
It sounds like the movie was a lot more gory before the editing..
Gee Im glad I didnt witness Newts autopsy!!! O-O
but I wish I had especially seen
The facehugger tendrils image inside Ripleys throat
the Xeno moving through the flames
and heard the 'licking' of the xeno after Murphy was attacked by Acid spit in the vents...now that would be chilling!

Thank you.
I don't have time to do the article as one big one so I've split it into two so I can slowly work on part two.
Years ago Fincher tried to get a version/deleted material on the original laserdisc release. Sadly, he was bluntly told no and he didn't get his way.
Here's a clip of extra shots of the alien inside the lead mold:

OMG so Horribly claustrophobic!!
thats just a terrible as being confined in the vent with the xeno
no escape.......
I wonder why Fincher wasnt allowed to include that deleted material??
That makes me wonder how much other unreleased footage there is for the other movies??

Alien - quite a lot
Aliens - Not so much
Alien 3 - Enough to make 3 or 4 different versions of the film. A shed load of material that hasn't seen the light of day yet.
So..... even with the extra footage that is often released with the dvd or blueray post movie with deleted scenes etc
there is still a lot of unreleased material??
wow.....
Imagine being able to get hold of that!!!!!
so awesome!!!!!!!

Thank you! I have been looking for these scenes forever, it's like comparing the theatrical release of Blade Runner to the "Final Cut" version.
Have you seen this?? It's from the comic, I dunno if you can use it or even want to but feel free to if you want. It shows the embryonic queen switching from Newts drowning body to another host, Ripley, after the crash on Fiorina.

Thanks for posting your work on Alien 3. I viewed and read all of the segments of this part of the story and look forward to the next installment.
I am not familiar with the term 'workprint' but assume it is the next step in the editing process leading to a pre-release print.
It has been many years since I have seen this movie in any version,, Now after viewing your work I wouldn't mind another session.
Thanks again for the link..

The Alien in 3 is beautifully designed and chillingly savage. I like to think that and the original is more closely related to the Engineers.
Great article Xeno_alpha, really good read! I always enjoy sitting down with a cup of coffee and reading through your other articles. Update my trivia, haha.

@Svanya - Yeah I've got the comic and the draft scanned that features that scene. Giger also designed a 'swim-skin' facehugger that was supposed to swim from the EEV wreckage.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Great blog zeno_alpha. I'll be spending lots of time reading through all of that fantastic, interesting material!
WOW, never heard anything about the 'swim-skin' facehugger before! ;-)

I've decided instead of splitting the article into two I'm going to add to the main article bit by bit.
Just a heads up. If you're a fan at all of Amalgamated Dynamics' Tom Woodruff Jr, Alec Gillis, and Lance Henriksen you can chat with all three of them from 10AM to 11:30AM via reddit's AMA. Here's the link... Click Here
Very nice collection of info.
Alien 3 has always intrigued me more than the other films. It's my favourite tone in the hole franchise - that whole eulogy feel. It would have been nice to see the film with all of the gore included.
Your blog is insultingly great. It's absurdly fantastic, outrageously complete. How dare you!?

Fantastic work!
I for one think that Alien 3 was ruined by the producers. The original "Wooden planet" would have been an excellent, highly original and unique finale to the trilogy. The amount of money wasted in the lead up to production and during, was all sucked out of the artistry and final product.
