There are 2 doctors standing at the door of Peter Weyland's room when Vickers visits him for the last time, i believe one of these doctors is the one that shaw knocks out (together with Ford) right before she's running for the Medpod. Ever wondered what happens to these guys at the end? Janek decides to ram the Juggernaut with the Prometheus and Ravel and Chance seem to agree with this and will asist him, that's just fine. Vickers runs for the escape pod. But where are the 2 doctors? Don't they hear the alarm going and notice that the ship is taking off? Why don't they come running to the bridge asking what the hell is going on or why is Janek not warning them to also take an escape pod? There are 3, could have been an intense scene to see Vickers taking the escape pod on time while the 2 doctors are there next to her suiting up but fail to take the pods on time before impact. Seems abit weird that all of a sudden these 2 people just get ignored at the end... Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

If you watch closely those doctors aren't in the end because they had been killed by fifield in the hanger one scene earlier. Gasp! Confusion...

No you don't seem to understand.. These 2 people are seen AFTER Fifield get's killed in the hangar, they are seen standing at the door of Peter Weyland's room when Vickers goes to see him for the last time, these people also stay on board when Weyland, Shaw, David, Ford and that one mercenary guy go to see the engineer. How can they have been killed by Fifield when in the next scene they are right there guarding the door of Peter Weyland's room?

I think the Fifield scene would have originally been seen after Weyland wakes up, there is footage of Weyland and his guards entering the hangar when Fifield is attacking, so those people are probably killed at that moment, and Shaw is the one who kills Fifield with the truck, it's also seen in the trailer. This is just horrible editing on a movie of this scale imo As much as i love Prometheus, stuff like this really frustrates me

Hm plz explain me why it is "worth it" I think for us "nerds" these movies need to be perfect... I have OCD when it comes to this stuff, i'm such a hardcore sci-fi fan, i want my Prometheus to make sense without any plotholes :( I think for the casual movie audience these things don't even matter or many people wouldn't even notice it, but i do :/

OK Newt, I actually went back to be sure and I now have the definitive answer to your question. You are astute in noticing the two guards outside of Weyland's quarters. Since they no longer show up in the movie, as in they are not on the last excursion to the pyramid with Weyland, while Ford and the guy with the machine gun is. The answer therefore is they must have remained on the Prometheus and Janek never even thought of them to warn them. They simply went up with the ship! Its as simple as that.

I believe Rebecca is correct - in the draft and original sequence, Weyland exits the ship shortly after the Fifield fun. Since we do not see the additional personnel in the final pyramid scenes we can assume they were either killed in the hanger or were simply ignored when Janek decided to ram the juggernaut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vf-uWFJiiw Peter Weyland enters the hangar when Fifield is attacking and Shaw runs over Fifield This would have been the original idea, and maybe those guys get killed there, but since they changed it these guys remain on board it seems at the end. I can assume that Janek just leaves them to die but this doesn't really make sense, it would have been much more awesome if Janek warns them, and they come running to the escape pod where Vickers is already almost suited up, they try to put on their spacesuits but fail to abandon ship on time before impact, only Vickers manages to escape. (There are 3 escape pods) Would have been a much more intense scene and it actually would have made sense. I think this is just kind of bad editing for a movie of this scale and importance, why didn't they re-shoot this or did something to make this make more sense...

So...like I just said eh? Why would I not understand if I'm right haha? This topic has been purposed and debated before on here and the same conclusion reached sloppy editing makes the film confusing sadly. Go go directors cut!!

But, the thing you said was "If you watch closely those doctors aren't in the end because they had been killed by fifield in the hanger one scene earlier." This doesn't happen in the actual movie though, so there is no way to watch the movie closely, only people who are pretty much obsessed with this movie or who have studied the trailers know about this. This was what was supposed to happen, but they changed it later on. It's this stuff that keeps Prometheus from being a masterpiece, this together with the helmets taken off and the "over 3% co2 will kill you in 2 minutes" while it actually takes over 10% to kill you in 2 minutes, these 3 things keep Prometheus from being a masterpiece imo.

Just give it a rest already its done Ridley made the movie last year. To me it is a masterpiece of sci-fi because it was so different from all of the other crap Fox put out that year. Prometheus was very good despite your whinnings about how it should have been 'perfect' sorry to disappoint you but THATS LIFE! Im pretty sure if you made an 'idealic movie' we would crtiticize it to no end just what your doing right now. It doesnt matter how long it takes 3% would still affect your motorskills and cognitive thinking. Ford was just making a general statement about breathing in too much CO2. A couple of things bother you especially when this movie actually has only a few errors, ALIEN has more and YOU THINK ITS PERFECT. Leave it alone its just a MOVIE no matter how you spin it!!!!!

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

It is in the movie, the guard at the door is the same one that was killed earlier in the hanger(theatrical version) I hope we get the real thing and get to see how it plays out with weyland coming out during the attack! Whoa!

That guard is the same guy who was killed earlier even in the theatrical finished version? lol... Btw you could actually go for a few months of breathing 3% CO2 before you see it affecting your health, but yeah maybe we can imagine Ford just means that "over 3% CO2" is starting to get risky and 3% is the max a person should breath, but she could have just said "CO2 is over 10%", then the next line (2 minutes and you're dead) would make more sense. I do think Prometheus is very good, don't get me wrong, it's just a shame imo that they were so close of making it perfect. Just saying.

Rebecca_Newt_Jorden I like your astuteness. Snorkelbottom pointed out the other day that there are many continuity errors in prometheus. Bigdave at one stage mentioned a scene where the engineers face is burned and in another is not (after the crash) In the trailers we have a sacrificial cup and in the movie a green stone. I believe the above mistakes /changes is a result of a lack of time and a limited budget. But mostly it was about time and therefore scenes were edited out of order as originally intended. These I believe were non deliberate mistakes. The 36 hours and co 2 levels given I believe are deliberate mistakes put in to create Controversy and thereby stimulating debate. I think ridley was simply to busy and there was simply Not enough time or perhaps the scenes were shot and they had no choice but to go with the continuity errors. Hey but at least we get to see p2 and p3 and possibly see some footage of what happened to space jockey . That would have to be one of the greatest cinematic events in history. This is what prometheus represents to me : a stab at what should have happened 30 years ago: a movie that explains the origins of the space jockey and cargo or at least leading to it. But I believe time was limited ans ridley simply had to much on hIs fork. That's my take on it.
