@joeyjoe: Hey I've just been looking at the above linked Prometheus thread on the sideshowcollectors forum. Is that you taking up battle with those hardcore HT boyz? Haha, brilliant! Hopefully it wasn't me misleading you into thinking it was a NECA toys related thread! :/ As much as I'm thinking you're making a lot of sense in what you posted there, something is telling me it might be the wrong place for it. However, a 10 out of 10 for bravery! :D

@hal: that is I! I just get irritated w those elitist HT folks. I dont understand why it has to be a war. To varying degrees, we all love plastic. Im more into neca, but i can freely acknowledge that HT does some pretty incredible work. Im leaving them alone now. Had to stir the puddin for a minute and now im done. haha. in other news...i have one of my neca prometheus series 2 sets on the way (both david and the deacon). I hope to get them by friday or sat. ill post some pics as soon as they arrive. Hope they look as good in person as those pics above. by the way, do the above pictures feature the 7" release version of david and the deacon or are they the "2up" prototypes? I hope they are the retail/release version of the figures...the pictured figures look incredible!

there is no release date right now for series 3. Since sales have just been "marginal" (ie not bad...not great) for the neca prometheus line, neca is waiting to see how series 2 does before they officially green light series 3 (all of this info comes straight from randy falk, head of product development at neca). Basically, neca has 6 more prometheus figures they would like to release after series 2 (david and deacon). The six figures are as follows: Shaw and Fifield (series 3), vickers and holloway, and holographic pressure suit and chair suit engineers. If sales stay where they are and hopefully bump up a bit, neca will continue to release the aforementioned figures; if not, they will discontinue the line. Moral of the story...buy all the figures they release so we can get more. If sales for series 2 (david and deacon) are reasonably strong, i imagine we will get series 3 around early june. I really hope we get shaw....really is a beautiful figure.

Cool looking figures the ones for me are David 8 and the Deacon alien. I have to get all of them for my big action figure collection.

havent had time to take and post pics, but i did get some of the figures i ordered from Neca's second prometheus line. Both david and the deacon are fantastic. Very nice sculpts...solid paint apps. Im very pleased. I recommend prometheus series 2! Retailers are getting these in pretty regularly at this point. BBTS, Toy Wiz, and certian places on amazon.com (market place) already have neca prometheus series 2 for sale. check em out!

Hi joeyjoe, thanks for letting us know. That's really good news! The fact that you're pleased with them gives me more confidence, as I'm still nervously waiting for my pre-ordered ones from a German toy seller. So can you confirm that the above pics are in fact the final product and not a double scale toy fair promotional show off? If the final product is even close to those pics I'd be a very happy collector! I hope the good news about works on the sequel's script having sort of started will also have a positive effect on decisions about future releases in the toys/collectibles industry. Let's keep fingers crossed.

ya know what, i do not think the above pictures are of the actual 7" scale official release figures. When examining the above-pictured deacon, it looks as though his lower jaw is NOT hinged (ie: permanently molded into the open position). This is not the case with the actual figure. The deacon's mouth opens, the lower jaw can be pulled down and out a bit, and the "inner mouth" (or whatever it is on the deacon. not really a full mouth) can be moved around a bit. I dont see any of the articulation i just mentioned on the above-pictured deacon. Also, id say the paint app depicted in the aforementioned pictures is slightly cleaner than what is present on the official figures. HOWEVER, the good news is that the pictures you posted are very close to what the finished retail figures look like. The sculpts are VERY similar and the paint apps are basically the same as well...like i said, maybe not quite as clean on the finished figures, but still very good. Bottom line, im very pleased. Series 2 is every bit as good as series 1 (if not slightly better!). The articulation on david is very impressive. The hammerpedes and the severed engineer head/helmet that come w the deacon are all very nicely done. Hope you get your figures soon, hal. i think you will be pleased. Great news regarding the sequel! i, too, hope that the news may add a bit of a bump to sales of series 2 figures. Really want series 3! series 2 has to sell relatively well for series 3 to become a reality. Lets buy these bad boys!
