I believe you are talking about Yutani's facial recognition software. I t is used on Shaw during her transmissions to Weyland. "Quiet Eye"

Prometheus is fusing on BR in many things. "Quiet Eye" reminds me to Voight-Kampff test, have you ever heard about CV Dazzle or Sci-Fi make up that can foil computer facial recognition?

She gets Predators gun thing at the end AVP2 but its not canon isit.? Why isnt Yutani anywhere in Prometheus.

Yutani was introduced in Alien. "Weylan-Yutani" is on the screens in the Nostromo. This became Weyland-Yutani in Aliens. The backstory was subsequently raped by the AVP films.

Thats because AVP just wanted to fit in somehow but who knows, its the comic-book version anyway so its not canon. I think the real reason was because Weyland was such a successful company in terms of money and technology that Yutani wanted a piece of it. Just like corporations today they merge to make more money and technologically advanced equipment and to compete on a global market. I do know that Weyland had more of an agenda than most other companies out there and he's worth more than other CEO's too. Dont blame the films blame the director who put that part in the movie, and they should have left that part out. The Yutani probably had an offer from the Weyland Corp. to join into a joint-company and all the androids like Bishop and Ash are products of these corrupted companies.

In the weyland files it makes a point of the ECIU being necessary ....why. If it just facial reconition software, it just doesnt seem important enough to make a point of it. I dont think its facial reconition tech. It says in the files 'For if yutani's ECIU software is to be trusted, there might be great risk awaiting us on the path to an even greater reward' the file was in regards to LV223 abd LV 426.

I feel that the Weyland-Utani connection needs to be fleshed out more and given hints to its origins story within the Prometheus/Alien canon while at the same time shirking off the annoyance of the AVP series trying to tack itself onto the Alien franchise canon like a parasite franchise connection. It can be swept aside or merely glossed over in one fail-sentence Frank Aurthur Weyland or Peter Weyland I think is his whole name in AVP 1 was merley his grandson or great grandson or decendant along-side Prometheus' Weland from the brothers or sisters of his decendants brother or sisters. They were all successful at the time and Avp can splinter-off into its own decendancy while the Weyland we all know and hate (lol) stays with the Prometheus/Alien universes' and it does not have to be drawn upon or even mentioned anymore.
