MemberOvomorphJun-28-2013 1:19 AMTo be perfectly honest I wouldn't mind seeing an alien 5 movie. There is still a lot they can do with it. I mean if you look at the other movies Aliens , 3 , 4, they a different styles of movies all with interesting ideas. If they came up with good setting and ideas , i would go and see it. I realise that the xeno is no longer considered scarey, but still it is very entertaining. I think they definetly should stay away from earth, but something set on another colony/settlement, something perhaps in decay.

MemberOvomorphJun-28-2013 3:52 AMIf Prometheus 2&3 doesn't explain what happened to the space jockey on LV-426, i'd like to see the story of him (and the story of the Derelict on LV-426) in an Alien movie.
Something that explains the story of him (and only him, and the rest of the crew), not the story of Space Jockeys.
But yeah, good idea. :)

MemberOvomorphJun-28-2013 7:50 AMWell Ridley Scott admitted on wanting to do Alien 5 that concentrates on xenos hive life and planet they have so I'm looking forward to that :D.

MemberOvomorphJun-30-2013 8:12 AMYeah i think theres room for a fifth, just has to be someone who's got a great effects team. Alien 3(cgi),Resurrection and Vs Predators effects were below standard for me.
The story could be the humans original battle with the Morbs (as which they're called here) ;) But they would be simpler creatures, the original...it could be just like a wild animal to the Engineers.
But is the Humans that have been abducted for experimentation by the Engineers hundreds of years ago, resulting in the Morbs we know now. Could even see the transformation of a Human to an egg,the creation of the goo and answers to some questions.
Also thought of a new Predator film, in the 1400's or whatever with Samurai's ultimately earning the respect of the Predator's.

MemberOvomorphJun-30-2013 6:40 PMIf they did do an Alien 5, Then they could be on earth. Ripley at the end of Alien Resurrection said to cole " I not been to earth for a long time" or something on the lines of that. So Alien would be on earth but not as it is now..hhmmm

MemberOvomorphJul-03-2013 10:41 AMI can't see an Alien V continuing the story right after Resurrection.
Personally, though I find Jeunet's film crazy and amusing, the clone thing is hard to take seriously even in a (serious-minded and scientifically convincing) sci-fi series like Alien. Ripley died in Alien³, period. Leave it at that. How can one be emotionally invested in some deranged alien/human clone of a dead person?
I'd rather see a reboot or a side-story.

MemberOvomorphJul-04-2013 8:38 PMI was thinking more along the lines of a new movie (without ripley). Maybe something not even related to the current movies. No weyland, no ripley something completely different.
@cremildu
I agree with you, ripley died in alien 3. A reboot or side story is the best idea for the continuation of the alien action movies ( Prometheus was a whole new direction).

MemberOvomorphJul-13-2013 3:27 PMNah... Alien was Sigourney Weaver's gig :D
And now she's aging quite rapidly, even as a handsome woman I could only see her portraying Ripley for a small part.
The AvP's show how much directors care about Alien now, which is to say "not so much." They've done their time and you can only go so far trying to scare people with the same monsters.

MemberDeaconJul-15-2013 10:00 AMI am not so sure, you see how do you bring back the Xeno, unless its connected to re-engineering Ripley in which case we would have to cast her and set the movie so many years after Alien Resurrection.
The Problem is if you resurrect the Xeno again in that timeline what can be done with it? We have been there seen that got the T-shirt and by opening up the Franchise again then where does it Stop?
Alien 6, 7 and 8....
Nope i think we would see another Alien movie, and i think it could end up appearing after Ridley has finished... if he gets time to finish his Prometheus Story....
You see as far as the Xeno goes, it has a History long before the Events that bestowed the crew of the Nostromo and indeed it appears it had history before the time of Christ....
The Engineers have some connection with the Xeno, at some point they came into contact, or created or created from something the Xeno....
If Ridley does not show this in Prometheus sequels or explain it in some kind of depth, then the door is open for another movie to come along and show us the Xenomorph and Engineers interaction.
Or as far as interaction with Earth and its colonies as far as Alien timeline, then maybe some Engineers and Xeno Cargo survived after the Events of Prometheus, Paradise etc and Alien Resurrection.
By that some Earth Ship and Crew either come across a Engineer Ship and Cargo, or a Engineer Ship and Cargo come across some Earth Colony etc...
That could be a way to introduce the Xeno again after the timeline in Alien Franchise.... but would we want to see such a thing?
I dont think so as it would leave the door open for the Engineers and Xenos to be exploited on the big screen over and over and over and bring about a AVPVE series...
So i would be up for a Alien series movie that is set in the past and gives answers and clues that maybe Prometheus and Paradise never answer.... But it would have to be a event set thousands of years ago and one with a outcome that leaves the only remains of the Xeno as whats connected and left on LV 223 that Prometheus found, and what was left on LV 426 that Nostromo found.

MemberDeaconJul-15-2013 10:06 AMThus if there was another Alien it should not be Alien 5....
It would have to be Alien Alpha or maybe Alien Inception...
I think Alpha would be suited as that implies The Beginning and First and Origin...

MemberOvomorphAug-02-2013 6:57 AMI thought Prometheus served the purpose of an origin story to the Alien (or at least potential sequels to Prometheus)? No, I definitely want to see Ripley's story wrapped up, or at least that timeline. Here's what I personally want to see:
Definitely a fifth film, chronologically, to fix and redeem the Alien. Probably not Alien 5, but maybe something like Alien Horizon. I feel that Alien[sup]3[/sup] was an excellent and flawlessly magnificent conclusion to Ripley's story, and Alien Resurrection ruined it. The goal here should be to surpass that of the conclusion at the end of Alien[sup]3[/sup], something similar in style, but original in presentation and taken to an all new level of epic (I have a few ideas in mind for the direction the story could go, if you would be interested in hearing it I'll start a new topic.) And to my next idea, one not everyone is going to like, no doubt about that.
I have an idea on how to bring Hicks and Newt back. ;) Now, who's to say Ellen Ripley was the only cloned subject? Surely, if they recovered blood samples from Fury 161 in 2181, and were able to 'resurrect' Ripley after 7 unsuccessful cloning attempts in 200 years later, they would most certainly have the technology to do so with at least one other. Why not Rebecca 'Newt' Jorden? I haven't come up with a good reason, perhaps she has an embryo in her as well, perhaps it was just for experimentation with memory and thought control as part of a secret government experiment? As for Hicks, yes they could clone him as well, or we could get creative with it. An android based off of Hicks and his battlefield prowess. A 'combat synthetic' if you will. If you want to get crazy with it, have him not find out he is an android until the end of the movie or close to it. A lot of people wouldn't like this, but I feel there are a lot of hardcore fans from way back when Aliens first came out that fell in love with the Ripley, Newt, Hicks trio after first seeing them in theaters, and were so crushed to see them picked off like cannon fodder not even ten minutes into the third one, and would be stoked to see them return in some way, I know I would!
I also wouldn't mind having Ripley 8 make a cameo appearance toward the end, maybe even sporting the iconic curly short style from Aliens. Of course due to Weaver's age, she may be nearing 70 by the time this film comes out, if it ever does, it would have to be a limited cameo role with no real action, replacing her with a new, strong, young female lead (A grown-up, pissed off, Newt Jorden for instance.) but still there to offer words of encouragement and wisdom due to her experience fighting the beast, and of course, for the hardcore fans (like mua.) As for villains ;)
I say incorporate government corruption and tyrant politicians and businessmen heavily in this one. Maybe the United Systems Coalition (the Administrative and political division of the martial United Systems Military) has been keeping Weyland-Yutani Corporation's existence, and thus its activities and influence in the USC, classified above-top-secret, spreading misinformation that it had been bought out? They are behind the events that unfold in the film, and why the characters end up in the deadliest environment in the known universe, which brings me to setting...
I have an idea for the Alien 'Hiveworld'. It is home to the deadliest ecosystem in the known galaxy, and the Engineers could definitely be tied in somehow. On this planet, the Aliens are the 'apex predator', and there are all kinds of beasties of all shapes and sizes, all bearing the signature "mouth-tongue". The characters get caught in the middle of the intricate and dangerous 'living food web' at least once. The entire surface of the planet is itself blanketed entirely by one massive fungal organism, 'Giger-ish' in appearance, that is constantly gobbling up unwary, hapless idiots. The planet itself is called 'Legion'.
As far as the design of the alien goes, the plot, and how the aliens are involved, I could go on and on, but I am definitely all for a return to the 'dark, horror' atmosphere of the first one, while stylishly blending the action of the second in towards the end, and the 'epic feeling' of the third in with it at times. The final showdown is definitely one of epicness, but most of the movie is the slow but steady reintroduction of the Alien itself, and the debut of its new and utterly terrifying form, bigger, scarier, and more powerful than any of its precedent iterations, and completely unprecedented.
