An engineer called Prometheus?

I thought and hopped it would been David who was Prometheus in that he Stole from the Engineers to make himself more Human but ultimately got punished by his own hand as now he was more Genetic he could get infected with a Face Huger or Similar... well Shaws baby. Some speculated it was Weyland who would been Prometheus... But my view after seeing the movie is it is the Engineer race who are Prometheus.... Stealing something to create Mankind, and ultimately paying the price buy further tampering with the Goo and creating the Xeno etc.

@Mark- i certainly hope not buddy. Having an Engineer named Prometheus would be far too literal. (After all, it was the humans playing the part of Prometheus- the entire expedition was centred on us obtaining scientific or spiritual knowledge. Weyland even had the audacity to ask for eternal life) David also played the Prometheus part, but for himself; secretly learning as much as he could. (And seemed very pleased with himself by the time he sits in the Engineer chair) It's this attempt to obtain 'forbidden' knowledge and bring people (or robots) to the level of Godliness which parallels with the Prometheus tale. That's it. @BigDave- Good God man, you can't let go of this Pinnochio thing hey? 1) David loathes humans (with one possible exception) 2) He is already VASTLY superior in every way; why downgrade and lose the immortality he already has?? 3) David has expressed nothing indicating that he is not perfectly happy being a robot. He has a profound disappointment in his creators and thus, is quite 'pleased' to find a superior race in Tje Engineers. His creators-by-proxy if you will. David would never give up all of his amazing abilities, his immortality, and his low opinion of 'us people' simply because he wanted to be a real boy- that's just silly. Also he had no problem experimenting on humans, clearly he doesn't hold us in high esteem. In summary- please no! An Engineer named Prometheus, and i'm finished with this.

@Fleshvessel Nope i am not on about wanting the Pinnochio thing after seeing the movie... That opinion was what i was wondering if they would to tie in Prometheus, at a time before the movie hit the Big Screen, at a time before we knew anything about the outcome of the movie.... First time i found proof that this would not be the case was with a screen grab from a trailer weeks before launch that if you looked close you saw Davids Head on the Floor... This made me think, oh well i guess David is not going to try and make himself part Machine and part Organic in his pursuit to be not more Human but more Human and Godlike... At that time we did not know or get to know Davids true persona and agenda... And once we saw the movie, then i agree that in the end he seems to loath Mankind and Thinks he is superior and wants to not be a Servant to Mankind but to be his own Master... So with the Wondering if David would had got made part machine and part organic and then get Face Hugged that was just a wonder i had way back months before the movie got released. I now like the outcome we had ;)

That could work, we could have the Engineer explaining to David what happened. But i dont think it will happen,it'll be dark and tense up until Shaw and David find something alive, and they will be in oar* of this supreme being.

@BigDave Gotcha. I hope i wasn't too antagonistic towards your (previous) theory. My mistake. I misread that. As to the post at hand; please God no. Humans teaming up with Aliens to kill other Aliens. Sounds like AVP or a million other old sci-fi flicks. I just want more. Good old fashioned Ridley suspense, stunning visuals, and yeah; i am one of the ones who wants some more Xeno action. Sue me.

I wanna see if there will be some Engineers that had taken on names from ancient civilizations. Like Enki especially hes a scientist and creator and taught mankind metallurgy. Here's something really odd that people dont know, every matallurgical age has come every 3,600 years give or take.

Whether theres another planet in our solar system or not thats not the point but it still weird why. I'll stop dont worry I dont want a debate I just like to share interesting information.

I had this idea as i said ages ago, simply trying to peice clues, as to connection with Prometheus, and the trailers in which we never saw much.. including what David would be like. Only that they hinted he had his own Agenda, which when we saw the Big Things have Small Beginnings Clip with the Goo on his finger... It got me to think does he steal the Engineer Tech for himself, and ultimately the Goo does something to him but his punishment as with Prometheus who had his Stomach Torn out by a Eagle... I wonder does he make himself Bio Mechanical, but then his punishment was getting Chest Busted and thus maybe a connection with the Xeno? But at the time i had problems with that idea, as well the Derelict looked like it was on LV 426 for thousands of years, and i would not have brought the Idea of the Space Jockey being even a Engineer from Prometheus never mind David, Shaw, Weyland in the Space Suit. As i had taken to the idea that the Derelict was crashed a long time ago and thus nothing in Prometheus would lead to Alien.... But hey back in those days before the movie got released there was far more bizarre ideas, including Shaw was the Space Jockey, and who remembers the Fake Preview Screening viewers who claimed it was Weyland in the Pilot Chair lol.. But i am glad the way the movie turned out as far as David not getting affected by the Goo as then how would they have Shaw operate the Juggernaut and get to Paradise..

Any kind of engineer protagonist with a lot of screen time, and some actual lines for the final cut, would receive a double thumbs-up from me. What I don't want to see is some kind of cheap romance arc between Shaw and anyone/anything else. She's not that type of character. Romance in science-fiction has another name: fan fiction.

An engineer walks upto Shaw and David and says "Larfch gsqhjs djjwj hnshkns mzskqjjs." "What did he just say David?" Shaw asks, to which David replies, "He said hello, pleased to meet you, my name is Prometheus." :-D
