I am wondering if the Sacrificial Engineer was indeed more important than we originally were lead to think he was. Could it be possible that having been chosen to sacrifice his life, in order to create life in his image on Earth, that he was to be worshipped as the God of the human race? So, the cave drawings were just drawing depicting a visiting Engineer telling the ancients where their creator was from? If so, then the awoken Engineer is pissed at us due to our historical lack of reverence towards his race?

I think the Engineers held a high regard for the purpose of his Sacrifice and i do believe that the Head Statue could been built by the Engineers in dedication to the Sacrificial Engineer and his Part in the creation of Mankind. Thats why i wonder was LV 223 meant to be a Facility of Death from the Start? Or was it meant as a eventual paradise for us, but as soon as we offended them and they deemed we are no longer a worthy race and needed to be destroyed they then converted the place to produce a Weapon of Mass Destruction to use upon us.

I guess it is now up to Elizabeth Shaw to get our answers?

Yeah but its only half of what we know. The Engineers aren't just interested in destroying us I think it goes alot deeper than that. Their WMDs I think were originally meant for war and that we are probably sided with a certain Elder faction and and theother Space Jockeys see us as a threat because we're part of the enemy. One wants to promote life and the other wants to destroy it its like their the neocon right-wingers of their planet.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

Maybe the WMDs were never meant for war from the start and that they were just using genetic mutagen for life. Then only later some Engineer decided it was time to use it for something else like war and harvesting.

I also see the Elder Engineers as the ones who would pass 'judgement' on the inhabitants of their created worlds.

The sacrificial engineer at the beginning was not looking to be anyone's god. I look forward to learning what Shaw learns in the sequel, but I also wonder if that is really to be the point of the movie. If Shaw goes there to use the black ooze on them, she will be passing judgment and I suspect she has this in mind.

I am happy Ridley Scott kept it open to interpretation. In my opinion its not a sacrifice, but an honor for an Engineer to be a "seeder of Life" The Cryo Engineer clearly didnt see humans as a threat, but acted on first impression. Shaw was beat up, Weyland was cocky as hell. And that humans used their AI creation to talk to it, was the ultimate insult. And who knows, perhaps DAVID said something more to set him off.

it was said that something happened about 2,000 years ago that changed everything on their planet. that is a reference to the crucifixion (alleged) of christ. they sent us a leader and we fucking killed him. that is why they are pissed. and not only for killing him, but the infection of the human race nearly ended theirs. if you think about it, the movie basically blames the inception of an intergalactic super alien on us.
