I'm afraid I don't like pretty much all of the others he's one of the best directors but he has some stinkers too. :-$

Prometheus

Alien

(Yes, Matchstick Men is clever as hell! didn't even know that was Ridley!)

Also, i it's not Ridkey Scott (bracing for the backlash for mentioning Nolan here...) but my all time favourite film...

(I even have the hand tattoo, and all of my others are strictly lettering because of the effect this movie had on my then 17 year old self...)

... is Memento.

LOL Oh Ridleys Movies, i thought you meant alltime favs, as well that would be hard..

As far as Ridleys work, well to be honest i am not his biggest fan, its hit and miss for me and especially some errors he makes as far as visual on screen but then the flip side is the amount of depth and detail he puts in, well it basically out does any errors.

My Top 5 of his are..

1. Alien

2. Blade Runner

3. Legend

4. Prometheus

5. Black Hawk Down

To be fair though American Gangster and Gladiator are also good, his other movies well they are hit and miss for me, but each to their own.

I do feel apart from a few errors and disapointments, given bigger budget and run time of 3 hours Prometheus could have been his best movie by far... But there are most likely 2 sequels to come that give him a chance and bigger budget and take on board comments about the franchise so that Parts 2 and 3 could be EPIC!

Yeah, a run time of more than 3 hours would be awesome. I thought about a monumental sci-fi film with a scale like Star Wars. If Prometheus 2 won't be like that, 'The Forever War' could be. I am reading the book and I can already imagine the epic battles, big cities and spaceships. :-)

^ "Forever War" is an excellent book, probably the best sci-fi I've ever read.
