A Colonial Marine Movie

I’m with you on this one. I would not care to elaborate because I am really focused on Prometheus and the Alien franchise as a whole.

I think we all know that this franchise has been mismanaged since last of the Alien movies, Alien 4.

Then there were the blatant spin offs with Alien VS Predator and now Prometheus. I was not completely disappointed with Alien VS Predator requiem but I know that movie hurt both franchises immensely.

The Predator movie with Adrian Bode had really good potential until the scenes with Lawrence Fishburne. I am sure a lot of other fans just cringed watching him in that movie. I really like the Yakuza character very much.

My main concern is not that you could not do a separate type of movie in the Alien franchise but that it be of enough substance and a have a large enough budget to stand on its own properly. I think the budget with a lot of these movies had them well below a large summer sci-fi movie and it just ate away at all the previous work that went into the quality that was once the domain of these movies.

Alien, Aliens, and parts of Prometheus are master works of art to me. One thing that does make a movie possible now that would not have before is the special effects. The price for what you can visually put into a movie now is amazing compared to just ten years ago. Having stated all that yeah I would like to just about anything that could be made with-in this franchise. 

it'd be interesting to say the least... Now, TAKE MY MONEY!

I think this is kind of what Fox and Ridley was saying about the potential of the franchise and that it does not have to be about Xenos....

so yes we could see a spin off about the Marines and Weyland-Yutani that could be done and not have nothing to do with the Xeno so could be set before Aliens or even After, if we assume that there is nothing left on LV 426 as far as Aliens canon goes.

Likewise Prometheus could open up another franchise, you see are Humans on Earth the only seeded Humanoid life that the Engineers had created? Is Paradise and LV 223 the only places where you find Engineers in our Galaxy. They could explore another Humanoid race or even Humans in another part of the Galaxy that has no contact with Earth, such as Battle Star Galactica etc.

These Engineers could be alive and well and interacting with other creations in a far far place in the Galaxy that is simply beyond the means for Weyland-Yutani or any other Earth Company to reach by Star Ships even in the timeline of Alien Resurection.

They could alternatively do a movie that is based on Engineers and their creations or even Earth but one set thousands of years ago.

But back to the topic of doing a Alien Timeline i.e 2100-2200 movie just about the Colonial Marines, why not? we cant rule it out. 

And i would pretty much Garuntee we would see a Comic Book, Novel or Game based on them that has no connections with the Xeno, Engineers or Predators.

I wonder who would direct it.
