even Cameron thinks part 1 didn't add up logically.

To be fair though many movies are not realistic in such a manner...

But yes you raised some good points in that indeed no soon as David oppened that door, and no soon as they found dead Engineer bodies you would think they would put their helmets back on as a precaution. Also to not risk contamination of the Room.

I do think maybe they should have kept the helmets on like in Spaights draft.

However i think the main point is all these silly elements was needed to drive the plot to the ideas that Lindeloffs draft had....

For example, had they kept their helmets on then maybe this would have meant that the Frescos would not start to change, and that the Urns containing the Goo would not have occuried.

And so they needed something to trigger the Urns to leak so that it then can spill over the Worms so we get our Hammerpedes, so its all part of the plot...

But yes maybe they could have had one member of the crew knock on over, like how in Spaights draft Fifeild ran into one of the Jars that contained the Nano Scarabs.  But then would that have the same effect and be reason for them to want to get out asap.

When Lindeloff and Ridley decided to change the bugs to Black Goo they must have to some degree thought about what the process would be and how these Weapons are activated.... i.e if they are placed in certain enviromental conditions they would then leak.

If this was the breathing and exhale of Co2 by the crew or any lifeform triggers the Urns then i guess thats why they had to add a scene where they had no helmets.

Wow so much said, even too much: and I think if the debates're still boiling then "Prometheus" was significant event. I'm also able to spot its inconsistencies but the thing is... I want to watch it over and over again. I don't know why.

@Dave yes well even if something shattered their helmets like engineer technology a sound wave or missuse of a panel that all would of been so much better side stepping any 'omg that was so bad stupid they would never do that' type arguements and theres so many parts that could of been fixed like this or any number of ways with slight tweeks! Anyway hopfully the next two parts reveal something more about it all maybe there was mind control or some other stuff going on we dont know about  :P !

Some are thinking that time travel or alternative realities could provide us a explanation and as you said mind control could be another but i dont want to see such things used as a excuse no thanks...

The movie had its flaws, there should been more eye for detail over some of the logical decisions and events and more coherence..... but they can learn from their mistakes and make a Part 2 better and more Scientifically sound as far as the Science goes, that applies to Humans....  as for the Engineers and Xeno well thats Fiction so they can pretty much go anywhere with them.

Like i said Part 2 could be fine,  i remember Star Wars Part 1 was a massive let down for me, also... it was not as serious a movie as the orginal trilogy which was a Family Sci Fi, Epic like what they tried to do with Avatar etc.

Now Phantom Menance had some good plot points and scenes, but some of it was comical and as if they was trying to make it into one of them Family Animated movies you know Monsters Inc,  Monsters vs Aliens and Megamind feel to the movie.. if you know what i mean?

But Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith was back to being more serious... lets hope with Disney incharge the next 3 movies have more of that feel or the original and not the Animated Family Dream Worls/Shrek feel that some parts of Phantom Menace has.

So my point being that Fox and Ridley can learn from Prometheus to get things right with Part 2

Well the mind control situation could be done very well in a subtle way maybe something behind the mural or on the engineer home world is doing it maybe it's trapped and needs help type thing. Imagine flash backs with a tiny whispers. Or even more subtle flash backs from shaws eyes perspective maybe Shaw realises the God like being has been inside her head nudging her in directions after she sees it in person.

And yes the new star wars were bad...some good bits kind of fun but no were near the level of the old ones just hope the new ones are good...Abrams is quiet good just hope it's well written. 

Ive read through all of your posts and they make some great reading.... Lets all get together and write the script for Part two!

Seriously though all films have flaws, Alien the masterpiece does.... Anyhow I think the PG13 was a precurser, and a slight dumbing down and sensationalisation of the script thanks to the producers were the biggest issues.....

All films have flaws true but some have a couple others millions lol. 

And weirdly I was just thinking I wonder if anyone had looked at this forum from the prometheus team and stolen any ideas...will be fun find out when it comes out. Of course they will deny it and say we just guessed what they were going to do by luck :p .
