Prometheus in Empire's 301 Greatest Movies of All Time

Personally it's in my top 5.

You really aren't doing Prometheus any favors by showing this list. This is a list for teenage boys, not serious students of cinema. They have Vertigo, an actual masterpiece, at the absurdly ridiculous place of #43. On serious lists, it's curently #1, Citizen Kane at #2. What's really awful is the token inclusion of a few great movies in a failed attempt to give credibility to this joke of a list. I know too much about film to take this seriously. When I saw a Star Wars movie at #1, I nearly puked. The kindest thing would be to hide this list. 

I totally agree with BSS1973. No serious list would have films like- Avengers, Jurrasic park, Back to the Future etc ahead of classic films like Alien, Vertigo and Heat.

Shawshank Redemption in the top 10, i do agree with that, but ALIENS ahead of ALIEN and 2001 S O, absurd!

I suppose it all comes down to personal taste, but it does make me wonder what kind of people they surveyed. 

I agree oduodu. Over time it will become a classic like 'Blade Runner' and 'Quatermass and The Pit'. The film was forward its time...

287 lol that's about were I rank it. Whoa crem you think that's a good rank :O crazy guy! Will be interesting to see were it's ranked in the future. Only part 2 and 3 can save it now. Even I don't think it was totally Crap but definitely a disappointment for most...of course not for the fans here...

And yes quatermass was amazing just wish the writer could of been around to work on prometheus. And yes my list would have alien gladiator and mar adentro and zatoitchi in the top 5...always personal...vertigo was very good in certain ways but you have to merit films on everything not just if it's ground breaking. For instance the sound for vertigo I wouldn't rank so highly. And modern films do stand on the shoulders of older ones and are I'm afraid better in General. Even though I can still watch quatermass holding the knowledge that it was in the early days of cinema and acting cameras lighting effects were so refined etc. ...And the older ones are nostalgic I know lifting them up in older people's minds.

Oh yes and star wars is awesome I prefer return of the Jedi top ten for sure(only the older 3 of course).

Im sorry... Star Wars 4, 5 & 6 are great.... 1,2 & 3 are an embaressment.....

Prometheus is truly a classic. It may not have made a billion plus dollars at the box office, but it was a success. I, for one, enjoyed the attention to detail when it came to how the sets were made.
