MemberNeomorphJun-13-2014 2:18 PMSo, i spend most of my free time searching the internet for artwork. I've just been on a site called 'Conceptroot,' it is a site that showcases concept artwork for the film and games industries. I came across a piece of concept work that depicts a very Gigeresque environment. If you look in the top left corner of the image, there is what appears to be a JOCKEY CHAIR! Is this a piece of concept art for Prometheus 2?

MemberOvomorphJun-13-2014 2:25 PMTag cloud for the image includes "Halo" and "videogame". But the object you mentioned at the far left does look uncannily like an Engineer chair. That is unquestionable.

MemberOvomorphJun-13-2014 2:27 PMIt is infact look closely you will see the dead pilot to the far left and his arm sticks out. Its too mechanical and human for me it should have that Giger and ancient civilization vibe to it ie...Stone monuments and statues.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberTrilobiteJun-13-2014 4:04 PMNECRONOM 4 - That is an extremely compelling image! Indeed, that object within the left-hand section of the piece looks a great deal like an Engineer chair! This is an extremely fantastic find! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! :)

MemberOvomorphJun-13-2014 4:19 PMOn Gutalin's website, he has new art depicting female engineers, this also could be for Prometheus 2.

MemberOvomorphJun-13-2014 11:31 PMGreat find Necronom 4. Could that be an Elder standing on the platform in the centre looking out. I've been suspecting that the Engineers are clones, used by the Elders, or their superiors as the carrier of life via the use of their DNA, blending it with whatever was contained in the vial consumed by the Engineer at the start of Prometheus. Could this image then be a cloning facility? Note the chambers on either side, these could be growth chambers....

MemberDeaconJun-14-2014 11:26 AMPitty we never had a larger higher resolution image, we can then study it more...
Firstly when zooming in looking at the pixels they seem uniform in pixelation untill we get to the Space Jockey segment... some pixels are kind of different rate to rest image and then some blurred so smaller pixelation.
Mind you some other areas look odd to so i guess i can not say this is a Space Jockey Chair added to another image i.e fake....
I would assume that more and more concept works could come to light by end of the year.
I also had heard rumour that the movie is indeed going to be centered around David and Davids and a Mission to discover what happened to Prometheus... while David has his own agenda that is to do with taking the Jugernaught back to earth.....
So this kind of matches the other post Hell on Earth is this person is correct....
This causes problems though, as yes Ridley said David is bringing Hell with him, in early interviews about the sequel.... but the idea then seem to push towards going to Paradise. Now this what i heard and many other bits of information seems that is not the case at all and indeed David who is bringing Hell with him, did say does not everyone want their parents dead?
So maybe we will not find out much about the Engineers, maybe they are to be left a Engima like the Space Jockey, maybe this could be why the Engineer scenes were cut down....
My problem if any of this is true is well how does this tie into the Alien Timeline?
Because if the company go back to LV 223 and what they may find and if David does indeed bring a Jugernaught back to the company or indeed back to Earth...
Well in Alien and Aliens the company had little idea of who these Xenos was so surely they had little or not contact....
Only way this could fit in is if this movie is indeed a Spin off based in the Universe but not Canon..... i.e like the new JJ Abrahams Star Treks compared to the Orginals, and Dark Knight Batman movies to the 1990s ones, and also like Man of Steal and Amazing Spiderman compared to older Superman and Spiderman movies..
If so well i would be disapointed, as i wanted a true Canon connection to Alien and Space Jockeys...
Oh well Maybe AVP3 will be our Canon lol...
Oh this person also claimed that they are pushing a connection to Blade Runner and Prometheus and that Ripley 8 is not the first time Ripley is cloned.... Does this mean a excuse to bring in Sigourney? or even if in a Alien 5 that follows the next Prometheus movie, could they be saying Ripley in the Alien movies was indeed a replicant?
i hope not :(

MemberFacehuggerJun-15-2014 2:35 AMThank you for sharing this. I'm sure that this is an engineer chair. Because it doesn't look as if it would be made by coincidence. It seems that it is in a warehouse. But the chair is the only thing which looks biomechanical. The other things which hang around could be made by human.
What if this is a warehouse by weyland industries? The chair was brought to that spacestation from LV223. ...but the man in the middle of the picture is a very tall man and wears same clothes like an engineer and has a bald head...
Check this page out: http://tomstrzal.com/ The artist is called tomasz stralkowski and makes amazing realistic 3d models with zbrush. The design looks biomechanical.

MemberDeaconJun-15-2014 7:45 AMYes its a very hard to judge concept work, we dont know yet if it truly is related to the movie.
The figure in the middle looks very tall compared to the Space Jockey, very tall and very thin and actually as the same shape and figure and size as the Alien Race Kaminoans from Star Wars who created the Clone Troopers...
Saying that there is no reason why the Elders can not be a more magestic and Alien Looking Race just as the Kaminoans may look, the Engineers could be a Clone Creation of theres and then they could have re-engineered them to create Mankind via Sacrefice Scene.
I also notice that the Clone or Cyro Containers all seem to differ a bit in size but most seem large compared to the Space Jockey to the left... so we would have to assume would be too large for Humans and we know Humans are created via Sacrefice Scene, well the kick start of Evolution at very least.
But this chamber lacks the Bio Mech look of the Engineers/Space Jockey.
So i am on the fence and will say this is purely fan art and not any concept for Part 2 of the franchise

MemberChestbursterJun-16-2014 10:06 AMWell if its, this would go with the idea that engineers have no means of reproduction other than clonig because all those pods/toobs pretty much have to be that. No matter wat this really is, its a very well done piece!

MemberOvomorphJun-23-2014 10:53 AMSomeone mentioned it was tagged as "HALO" and "Videogame".... And thats probably what it is.
While its nice, the design asthetic doesnt really match the one seen in Prometheus. Its like a typical futuristic hallway with cryo chambers...with the Space Jockey chair copy and pasted in the upper left hand corner. (LOL, the left hand corner doesnt even match the rest of the tech in the illustration.) But w/e its cool and I see why the artist wanted to incorporate it. (He/she either likes alien or just needed a quick texture filler for artwork that needed to be turned in ASAP.)
Typically concept artists have to sign NDA's for their work. So the artwork wont be posted until the movie is already out or, at the very earliest, about to come out. Sometimes they can post illustrations of concepts that have been scrapped and wont be used. But again, even the scrap cant be posted unitl the movie is released or approval is given by the studio.

MemberNeomorphJun-23-2014 11:08 AM@Draekus; You're wrong on a few counts there. Firstly, if you go to the source website, there are thousands of pieces of work from different artists, for different projects in the film industry and the games industry. EVERY single piece of work has HALO in the tag cloud. For example; there is a thread for Star Wars concept artwork that has HALO in it's tag cloud. Check it out.
Secondly, it is ok to post concept artwork for a project you are working on as long as you don't give any information about it until the film as officially been confirmed. That is my understanding anyway.
Indeed, it may not be for Prometheus 2. It might be for some game that somebody's working on. But at the moment, i'm guessing that it IS concept work for Prometheus 2 that as been shelved.

MemberOvomorphJun-23-2014 11:51 AMI didn't visit the source...so if all the images have "Halo" on them then maybe it isnt for the game. Still, I doubt its for P2. (just my opinion)
I havent worked in the film industry, but I have worked in the toy industry and with artists that were working in the film industry. The typical practice is to not post/reveal ANY work done for a property until the film/show was released, or you had permission from the studio. (Permission from the studio never came until the movie was released.) But there are many different studios and practices out there....so who knows.
I also know many of the artists won't post current project work on their sites. They wait untill after the movie is released. (Again, I think thats just the norm...doesnt mean it can't happen the other way around.) Plus out of all the supposed concept work we saw for Prometheus BEFORE it came out, how much of it was really from Prometheus? Used or Scrapped? (None that I recall, but maybe I missed something.) Just looking at my experience in the past to determine if this is really artwork for P2.

MemberNeomorphJun-24-2014 1:02 PMSorry folks. I've just found the same piece on CGSociety and it was posted there in May 2009, therefor, it's VERY unlikely that it is for Prometheus 2.
Sorry guys.
