JAMIETHEB@$+@RD - How very interesting! I very much felt that your ideas were quite neat! They follow along tried and true lines and, given the way in which you have presented them, I feel that they mesh to form a cohesive and engaging premise! I definately enjoy the prospect of the Engineers being a strange and alien species rather than giant men in suits - and I very much like the concept of the two factions! Very neat! Thanx for the feedback SomethingReal, here's a few more ideas and my screenplay for the final scenes leading up to Alien.

A Few More Ideas and The End.

Doing some research into real life parasitic reproductive habits, I came across something that would fit thematically with the Alien universe: There is a type of parasitical fungal infection that attacks ant colonies. Pretty gruesome, and I was thinking this could be used like the black goop in Prometheus. If exposed, you get taken over by the fungus and become part of a semi-sentient gestalt fungal entity. You could even have Xenomorph/Space Jockey susceptibility and this could be a threat to all life forms. 

You could show a hybrid fungoid Space Jockey/Human/Xenomorph mutation.

One of my ideas would be to have the survey team find a derelict human ship about 50 years old, abandoned, with no clues as to the crew's disappearance. Upon investigation they find 2 hypersleep capsules occupied. Unable to see who is inside they manually crank open the capsules to find: "An insane mass of semi translucent, protoplasmic fungal nightmare, a hideous fusion of mutated alien fungus and something that once was human". "Within the constantly pulsating, undulating mass of fungoid horror, Hunter could discern what looked like a closed human eye. A shock of pure primal animal fear that feels like fingers of cold steel rakes down his back, as suddenly the eye opens and looks directly at him. Insanity stares into his eyes and threatens to drag him under it's black oily surface".

I think I like this and want to use it (or is it a bit too much Carpenter's The Thing?) but I will have to expand my first act, as, as it stands now, it is still only a quick run through basic Alien/Aliens/Prometheus plot points : Get lost, find Eggs, get infected, shoot a few Facehuggers, take infected back to the ship, beat the crap out of the slimy company rep who doesn't want to let you back in the ship, etc. and would like to expand the story a bit.

Come to think of it, it could work as a short story rather than a screenplay. I didn't think I had much of a knack of writing narrative prose. Now I have a bit more time on my hands, I find it's not so much of a chore after all. I think I will write the story as a screenplay and "convert" it once I have completed the story.

There will be no interaction between the Space Jockey and the survey team, they only inadvertently wake it up when they investigate the hibernation chamber. The way any info about the S.J.s will be communicated will be through the synthetic who gets short circuited whilst messing with a piece of Space Jockey communication technology which downloads data into his CPU.

I am thinking a Space Jockey/Queen Boss battle though.

Still tossing up wether the derelict from Alien is this Jockey's ship that crashes when he is Chestbursted, or the derelict has been there for thousands of years. It certainly looks to have been there a hell of a long time, but one way around this is to explain that it has only been there a few years, but exposure to the calcifying/corrosive effects of LV 426's atmosphere has led to the marked detioration.

On the Xenomorph origin question I originally postulated that the Xenos were created by the Space Jockeys thus: Mutating Spider- like insectoid creatures that inject their embryos into living hosts, they produce the first Facehugger prototype. After using this to infect a female human clone lab rat, who gestates and gives birth to an egg - a Queen Alien Facehugger which they proceed to produce classic Xenomorph eggs. You look closely at Giger's Pyramid mural from Alien and it seems that this idea is something like what they had in mind. Though some feedback from family and friends is to not dig too deeply into the origins,as this may rob the creature of some of it's mystery, might leave this out.

Anyway I thought I would post the ending I have written, I am pretty happy with this and don't thnk these scenes will change very drastically over subsequent drafts. Let me know what you think.

INT. USCSS KURTZ - BRIDGE -  DEEP SPACE - ZETA II RETICULI SYSTEM

Hunter sits at the pilot's console on the bridge. Ragged and dirty, bloodstained clothing. A pistol in one hand. He presses controls on the Comm panel.

                                     HUNTER. (OUT OF BREATH)                                                                  

This is the final log entry of Captain Richard Hunter, USCSS Kurtz.....We intercepted an alien transmission in the Zeta II Reticuli system and landed on moon designated LV 427 to investigate...... My crew are all dead. Some infected by an organism that lays an embryo inside a living host, the rest were killed by the adult creature the infected were incubating....... The adult form of this creature is extremely hostile and very hard to kill, they have an armoured exoskeleton and extremely corrosive blood........Tasers and shock stunners are ineffective against the creatures, projectile weapons will kill them , though the blood will eat through four inch thick hardened steel bulkheads with ease.........My ship is infested with these creatures, and accordingly there is only one course of action left open to me. I can't take the chance of these abominations reaching an inhabited system.

Hunter presses another control on the panel.

Computer upload last log entry and eject the black box. Resume audio countdown, sixty second intervals.

A sudden impact on the bulkhead hatch sends a deafening clang reverberating throughout the bridge, and a large bulge appears in the four inch thick pressure door.

Black box pod ejected....Ship will self destruct in T minus two minutes.

The bulkhead hatch is bulging out of shape as the Alien batters at it.

Hunter looks at the gun in his hand.

The bulkhead hatch is breached. The Alien tears at the steel to make a hole large enough to squeeze it's body through.

Ship will self destruct in T minus sixty seconds.

The Alien is through the hatch.

CLOSE UP ON:

Hunter as he puts the gun to his head.

The USCSS Kurtz is destroyed in an immense explosion.

He inserts a disc into his holographic display unit and presses play.

A warning flashes up: RESTRICTED ACCESS: Security level ASC 12 ONLY.

The holographic display flickers and jumps, the file is badly corrupted. An Image of Hunter appears and begins to speak.

There was also a partial file from the Med - Bay surveillance camera.

The display flickers and jumps, then a sudden glimpse of an Alien: nine feet tall, black exoskeleton, elongated head with no eyes. The jaws dripping slime, open and what appear to be another set of jaws is revealed. The display fades to black.

The tech boys think the Captain blew up the ship, that's why the black box was damaged. The radiation from the pod matches the radiation signature from the detonation of a Class Two Fusion Drive.

These creatures would be worth billions to the Bioweapons division. Just think of the tactical uses such an aggresive life form could be put to. Not to mention the advances in body armour, new Industrial corrosives, all sorts of applications the study of these things could yield.

By the time we can outfit an expedition and get them out there, somebody else could beat us to it. We don't want to lose something this valuable to a competitor, Biotech Systems could stumble onto this. We need someone out there ASAP so we've got exclusive rights.

I've been going through the transport division files and I've come up with a plan.

The holographic unit displays a ship's schematics. The text reads:

USCSS NOSTROMO - Class Three Towing Vehicle.

She's scheduled to leave Thedus in four months, hauling a mineral ore refinery back to Earth. I can get their Science officer replaced with one of our stealth synthetics. The "special" models without the Asimovian behavioural inhibitors. He will be programmed to re - route the Nostromo to the Zeta II Reticuli system and "discover" the transmission. The crew of course will be expendable. and all other mission priorities will be rescinded.

What about the cargo? That's a hell of a lot of ore to risk losing.

His main priority will be the life form. His agenda will be to get one of the crew infected and have them frozen for return to Earth. If he handles this properly we get the life form and the refinery, it's a win/win situation.

I like the premise of the fungal infection - and I certainly enjoyed the way in which you built your story up to the point of the Nostromo's discovery of the Space Jockey's ship! Yeah, I like it so far. Fungal and microbial is actually terrifying, big space monsters you can run from or at least target....Plagues are horrific. Hard to shoot the 'big bad' when it's that small.

Yeah I like it too, I think it fits in thematically.

It is definately "Thing" inspired though. I'm thinking that maybe the ship that crashed in Carpenter's film could be........ A Space Jockey garbage ship, transporting obsolete bioweapons and toxic wastes to a disposal facility, the Thing organism being a mutated metamorphic bioweapon that was too much even for them to cope with, and the pilot get's assimilated by it. Silly Space Jockey's should really take better care with their weapons (or get a better O H & S officer).

Alien Vs The Thing?

Alien Vs The Thing sounds great to me! Someone NEEDS to write this!

I have been giving a bit of thought to the derelict from Alien issue and my take on it now is: The derelict on LV 426 IS docked on a weapons strorage facility. This accounts for why the egg chamber appears to be much larger than the derelict.

 My take on it is: The Juggernaught pilot was infected in the initial outbreak before he could take off with his deadly cargo, three thousand years earlier.

 The warning signal is being broadcast from 2 locations LV 426 (Weapons storage facility) and LV 427 (Weapons development and production facility). The Kurtz intercepts the signal from LV 427 whilst The Nostromo, entering the system on a different trajectory intercepts the signal from LV 426.

 The signal is both a warning and a mayday call. 

The Xenomorph weapon was developed but never used in the Galactic Civil War between the two opposing SJ factions. My Space Jockey on awakening, discovers the rest of his comrades in stasis are all dead, and that no one from his faction came to rescue them. He takes off in his ship with a cargo of Eggs bound not for Earth but for his enemies Homeworld where in an act of revenge he will crash his ship and release the Xenomorph infection. He is responsible for unleashing the Xenomorph into the galaxy. Discounting Alien 3 and Resurrection, At the time of Aliens the Xenomorph is still contained on LV 426/LV 427.

I am rewriting my second draft screenplay to incorporate some new elements and expand the story a bit. I will post the beginning of the story ASAP.

Why would Max be on Mars? Well a quick story line could be:

The military needs bodies(dead or alive) 'HAVE TO BREAK A FEW EGGS TO SAVE HUMANITY' Australia has plenty of bodies that wouldn't be missed. They have the freedom to do genetic testing, steroid, DNA , Etc....and cryo in seclusion.  Max gets captured(along with hundreds)and is  chosen for CRYO testing(the scientist doing the selection of cryo bodies is female and likes Max's looks) 

They put Max in Cryo and waken him every 6 months to see how he is doing....Once he is checked, he is dipped back in the cryo tank and the years between awakening is adjusted(2 years, 5yrs, 10 yrs)...a sentient computer takes over and monitors him as he sleeps and awakens in a nightmare cycle. before the cycle begins Max has proven(along with 5 others) that cryo is safe and working, the military scientists who captured Max put themselves in cryo and to be risen in 150 years...once they are awakened they find Mars has been terraformed and Earth has gotten much worse(plagues)they decide to leave Earth....... before they leave, they set Max in a terminal loop sleep/awake every 2 months(testing the limits)...what they don't know is, every time Max wakes he moves his straps just enough to be pinched and weakened as the cryo casket is opened and closed...2 years of the cycle Max breaks free! He finds that his tormentors have fled Earth for Mars and proceeds to follow them....

Revenge is best served red.

Max could also have been taken(by the hot female scientist, who also cryo slept) to Mars? or find his own way? Not sure.....

 A ton of smashed Mars rovers/flying machines later! Max kills them all and returns to Earth with the hot female scientist!

oops! Back to Prometheus!

And the company intercepting the Black Box and then putting a synthetic on board before it leaves for Earth to then be re-routed is very similar to what i was doing with my Prometheus part 3 lol...

Yours is worded differently mind.... and mine it was information obtained from the failed LV 223 rescue mission that sends the signal that gives some clues to LV 426.

But yes the whole of those ideas could work and i think you have done a exceptional job...

What may interest you is...... some of  your ideas could indeed actually be linked to some events and things that Alien 5 and Prometheus 2 could be on about...

Certainly if that person who gave me some information is correct, as they hint that Prometheus was not the first mission to that System.... i was trying to figure out how this could be....

Then another thing they said was some unused ideas from Star Beast as far as earlier drafts that never made it to Alien or any other movie since.... that got me thinking when O'Bannons Star Beast got re-wrote by Giler and Hill and they had it that the Derelict was a Human Ship and the Xeno was part of the Weyland Bio-Weapons experiments... and so the ship that encountered the Derelict and Eggs found a Human Pilot.

This kind of does seem a lot like what your idea was about the Ship that was found.

And so yes maybe this is a unused part of a prior Alien Draft....

So we really cant rule out a mission before that had got to the LV 426 system or there abouts....    and if so... well some of your ideas would fit nicely into it.

If i can find my work on Prometheus 2/3 i will start a topic again its mostly infinished, has some cool ideas... but the STUMBLING BLOCK for me was what does Shaw find and what connection have they in regards to Gods and Earth and the Agenda and reason..

So its who is in Charge on Paradise, what state is their culture in i.e destroyed or booming or something inbetween.... did they know of our creation, are they genetically related to our Engineers, and what about the Xeno.... did they want us destroyed...

Are they like the Elders in the cut scene, or maybe just re-designed to  be as Engineers i.e dont age... are they something else and not Humanoid, or maybe not as much as the Engineers... or is this God or Godlike beings something different.. maybe a Machine.

I had about 3 main ideas, that fleshed out into different ways so idea ONE could be they are Humanoid like... but then i would branch that with 3 Agendas.. and when i did that for my main 3 ideas i could not find one that fitted in perfectlty with everything else... it was just a very very hard task...

I feel this is what Fox and Ridley also found and why there may be a change of ideas and u-turn to what they Originally had... 

Anyway thats why i abandoned work on it as the whole who created the Engineers and their Agenda and State of their culture now and why they not come back to us, just got to complex to decide on a single idea... but every other aspect included what they found on LV 223 and what becomes of Weyland Corp etc was easier to do...

So BigDave, Re: Prometheus/Prometheus 2

For the purposes of my story I am thinking the events in Prometheus never took place. I'm retconning Prometheus into a pure Alien Prequel. The version I expected Prometheus to be. An Alternative Prometheus. For the purposes of my story I postulate that:

1. The Space Jockeys are a totally Alien species, not men in suits.

2. Weyland is just some old rich geezer living on Mars, long retired.

I think Prometheus 2 will fix some of the problems of its predecessor, a logical, coherent script might be a good start (I assume Lindelof isn't involved with this one?) I think Ridley Scott will take onboard and address some of the criticisms leveled at the first one. It has to be a better film surely? but I just can't get excited about it. They've veered so far away from what I feel should be in a movie based on the Alien Franchise, that once let down I expect only more of the same from the sequel. I really hope they do have the engineers not being the dominant species, and only servants of the true Space Jockey race. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised when I watch Prometheus 2 on DVD (aint going to the cinema to see it) but i'm not gonna hold my breath, time will tell.

My ideas were totally inspired by Star Beast and the Alien concept art. I do discount Giler's and Hill's ideas about the company experimenting on the Alien before the events in Alien though. In my story the 1st time the company become aware of the alien is when they recover the Kurtz' black box.

The USC Leviathan also intercepts the Alien signal some 40 years earlier, but the crew go out to explore and never come back leaving the Captain and first officer as the only suvivors. They send out a distress signal (that is not received until the Kurtz lands 40 years later) and put themselves into Hypersleep to await rescue. that was more influenced by Ripley's long sleep. The Kurtz crew intercept the USC Leviathan's distress call and check out the derelict Earth ship. When they open the capsules they find the survivors hideously mutated. This sets up a subplot that will be revealed later, when the Kurtz crew discover a monstrous mutated Xenomorph/Human/Space Jockey fungoid hybrid.

Would be interested to read your Prometheus stuff to see where you have taken it. is it posted on this site?

Your story sounds interesting and what i meant via the connection to Giler's and Hill's ideas  is that they have it that the Earth ship that later becomes Nostromo goes down to LV 426 and finds the Derelict Human Craft from a previous mission.

And your plot seems to follow a similar idea, i.e that Nostromo was never the first mission to LV 426 system....   i know Giler's and Hill's idea was that the events that brought aboutt he Alien was a Human Experiments on a new Bio-Weapon they replaced the Alien Race that had created Eggs etc element...

Yours goes back to that route.... but there is no reason a movie could show us that indeed a Human ship goes to LV 426 system after Prometheus and they inturn then decide to set up a Lab like Hadleys Hope had and experiment with the Goo and then create something new...

But such a event cant lead to the Space Jockey because that event has to be hundreds of years prior which is what Star Beast and Alien O'Bannons ideas had... this was later revised to being thousands of years... and now between 1800-2200 years ago.

As far as my work on Prometheus its unfinished and i have not posted it and i cant seem to find where most of it got to... i stopped work on it because of trying to fit in and connect the whole Engineers creators, Engineers, Mankind and then create and then destroy us and why they never came back plot...

As Prometheus and the Engineers to Earth connections did leave a lot of potential Plot Clashes with Alien and onwards.... unless..

1) They are all but destroyed.

2) They are vastly too far to reach us within a timeframe of houndreds of years.

3) They are not aware that we even exist (those on Paradise).

4) They do but they dont care, they have suffered a lot to try and destroy us and so they think without their help we would never evolve to reach the Stars Technogically and so they will put Earth down as a failed experiment of thousands and just not bother with us and leave us to destroy ourselves.

Or a combination of those elements.... but its a case of which and how, and thats what i had trouble with.... The Xeno that was not so hard.... The Engineers on LV 223 again not so Hard.... What becomes of Weyland Yutani again Easy... a 2nd mission to LV 223 likewise...  some dialog and flash backs and dreams that involve David 8 and Shaw.. again easy...

What Paradise looks like and in what state is the Engineer and their creators culture and what do they look like and their Agenda.... DIFFICULT

I think its similar difficulties they was having with Paradise too and why they may be going for a more simple and sinister twist..... one of my ideas had such a twist.

If you check out the News Article or my thread on potential Plot leaks for Prometheus 2 then if what i was told is where they are going then indeed we could be seeing a complete U-Turn on our Engineers and Elders being sympolic of say Gods in our cultures.

Be that Biblical, Sumerian, or Greek....

God = Angels

Annunaki = Iggi

Titans = Olympians

Thus...

Elders = Engineers.

Each of those had some connections, to their Herarchy and Agenda... and i was trying to fit in with that, but then throw some curve balls out.... but one other idea was something more sinister.... more basic... more horrific but would losely tie in to the Annunaki and Titans but throw the Magic God of the Bible out of the window....

But indeed it now seems that Ridley and Fox are doing likewise, they could be giving us something that is shocking and sinister and that bares little resemblence to the Engineers connections as far as if we see them as interpretations of the Greek, Biblical and Summarian deities never mind others i.e Hindu and Mayan....  So while Prometheus losely set up such a connection...

Prometheus 2 would be turning its back on such things...

If I was writing a Prometheus 2 script....I would most certainly make Paradise a long dead world. Smashed cities and aliens corpses litter the surface. Wiped out by something really sinister. Shaw and David find the true cosmic horror on a small moon orbiting Paradise. 

Here was a few outlines of Prometheus script some was ideas not fleshed into dialog,, others had that dilog done...

My draft covered...

Dialog between Shaw and David before she attached his head and he persaudes her.

David preps her for Cryo Sleep and says... Good Night, Sleep Tight dont let he Bed Bugs Bite..

She goes into Cryo Sleep he knows that the company would come to do a research mission because of data David transmited, its do they then discover Shaws SOS and avoid it...

We see David get into the Pilot Chair...

We see Shaw have a few dreams.... one of these as a teenager with another teenager and they are being looked after by a relative after her fathers death..... this relative will be played by Sigourney ;)

Then another dream she goes to her Funeral she is now in 20's and other other woman is Pregnant and says she will name her daughter after her grandmother  Ellen... and she is due to Marry when her fiance finished his tour with the Marine Corp...

We cut to David and he has flash backs and dreams.. details include that he was chosen by Weyland to be his personal David 8 and was programed with a AI to mimic Human Emotions more than the other David 8's in which company insiders Warn that this is risky and Robots should not have as much freedom....  and that Weyland is playing God by doing so, and Weyland sugests that he has surpassed God, brings up that he has created a being that is better in everway.....  The Board Member says yes but robots do not have a Soul.... they have no feelings... Weyland is like that is where my new Software and IC Chip comes in....  Board member is like but its still a Robot regardless it has no soul and you can not play God.... Weyland says what of those abominations Tyrell are working on, do they have Souls... just because we can clone parts of a being to be used as donnor organs.. from clones that have no Emotions does that make them have souls?  My division creates synthetic organ replacements, far superior to organic genetically grown in labs organs that will still fail.

Weyland tells the tale of Pinocchio, and how this synthetic was changed to a real boy, but then as a real boy his body is flesh and blood and he would die.... My Pinocchio will never die, never age, this is the future i invisage a future where Bio-Tech and Genetics can become one... were we would need to rely upon our feble boddies that God gave us.

Mankind can only Evolve so far, but no longer are we bound by the physical restraints that God gave us.... my Bio-Tech divsion has replaced Organs, limbs with better more effcient Sythnetic ones....   we went futher to produce a fully Sythetic Bieng of which David 8 is the latest... and my David here besides me will be the first to be given true Emotion, hes does not have a soul.....  But to we need a Soul to become Immortal?

I see a future where we Mankind do not have to live within the constraints of our fragile bodies... once we master how to transmit our every memory and thought of our brains into a Synthetic... then we will become Immortal...

Another shot then shows David and Weyland and Weyland is getting David to watch Lawence of Arabia.... Vickers walks in and says you spend more time with that Thing than you do with me Father..

Weyland says your are just like your Mother, you dont aprieciate the finer things in life.... David is learning he is processing Emotion from many sources i have exposed him to, he is becoming more Human by the day.. unlike you... you are as Cold as your mother was.

Vickers says... you are a fool to think that a robot can replace the Son that you lost, i lost my mother too and brother.  Giving Machines Emotions is wrong i dont know how you can sleep at night and rely on a Machine to look over you.  You would be foolish to play God and give the same freedom to all Synthetics its not safe and i dont trust a tin can.

David says Tin Can... i am made from a Synthetic Poly Alloy and so Tin Can i would find a great offence.. if i was Human...

Vickers says but your not and you never will be....

Weyland says thats enough, is there anything else you want Vickers do you not have something else to be doing.....

Vickers goes, yes Father while you are playing with your Toys, i am running this company...

David says.. sorry Mr Weyland have i upset your Daughter, am i really better off being a Tin Can...

Weyland says no, she is just bitter i never had much time with her as a child as i had to put my work first, if i was to be a pioneer and to be remebered i had to put work first... through you my Legacy will live on....  

Granting you Emotions is not a risk, if it was would i have allowed such a thing with you my companion... you may be a Android David, but you are not as Cold Hearted as my ungrateful Daughter, she had anything she wanted as a Child.

I do sometimes wish that i had a son, someone i could bond with better... but i have you David you are all the company i need.

We cut to scenes taken on Earth well Mars in regards to the board of directors... il cover these scenes in another post..

Anyway this cuts to another scene where David is a Child.. and their is a female Child,  and a young Weyland shows more effection to the young David and not the young Vickers... Weyland leaves... and  she then in jeliously  scratches David and he bleeds, and he cries and his blood is Red like a Humans....


In a fit of rage David grabs her by her Hair and pulls her Head off and White milk like Blood spurts everywhere..... this is a twist on David seeing him as Human and Vickers as the Robot...

After this horrific Scene...


Another dream Shaw has with Holloway and she is Pregnant but then she goes into labour only infront of Holloway,  this shows her Pregnant Belly Start to Swell, then she gets Chest Busted and a Trillobite comes out of her.. (this scene is a reverse of the Holloway Chest Buster in Spaights draft only roles of Shaw and Holloway are reversed).

This is the point when she awakens from Cryo Sleep... and David is peering over the Glass and opens the Cryo Pod and says to Shaw.. had a nice sleep....  Shaw is in shock grabbing her Chest....

David says its only a dream....

Shaw says are we there yet....

David says Yes, we are apoaching a Planet that the Engineers co-ordinants designate their Origin...

I'm wondering if they will even bother 'catching up' the Prometheus 2 audience.... Maybe they'll assume everyone knows the plot of 'Prometheus' and just get on with it? hmmm...

Oh...and I'm pretty sure the 'dreamwatching' tech was destroyed with the Prometheus? The juggernaut might have something similar?  They might have gone back to the life boat and grabbed a cryo pod...but they would have had to deal with the Deacon.....? not sure...Alien cryo pods might mess with your mind and body....

Now that i think about it...the juggernaut does have dream tech and it's in 3D holography! We saw it in action on LV223(the Engineers running from something)

Opps went a bit detailed there... lol... the full version if i can remember what i put in it as i did bits and bobs and misplaced them was even longer and so most would not make it into a movie as the draft is too long lol..

Yeah i guess lol.. but no i was not thinking of any monitoring Tech at all, just that Shaw has a dream well dreams pretty much like Ripley did in Aliens...  As for David he has flash backs too.

But then as the plot went on David starts to have delusions and has kinda like Donnie Darko does only instead of Frank.. David has Weyland.... i aimed to show that David 8 on Prometheus was given a more advanced AI than other models, and this programming had led to some of his actions in Prometheus, and some of his comments "like does not everyone want their parents dead"

I was in latter scenes going to show that after a incident Weyland disabled part of that programing but David Managed to keep memory of some of the freedoms he was given... and also show scenes of David being cast as a outcast i.e only a robot that hurt his feelings while he had the programing in a new IC, that was removed but he still kept some of the functions.

Also after Shaw puts his head on, his voice is not right and he says that Shaw has to re-attach some connections as with his voice not working correctly it would prove a difficult task to communicate with the Engineers etc... so she completely reconnects him but in doing so there are a few lose wires and David would kind of go off the rails abit and have his own Agenda.

Back to Alien 'Evolution's Nightmare'.

 'The Evil Space Jockeys'..... I think this is one of the reasons 'Prometheus' went with a human/Engineer Jockey on LV227. We already have the Xenomorphs and they already have Aliens. v.s Predators ( Aliens. v.s Predators v.s. Evil Space Jockeys?)..There aren't any Engineers or Space jockeys(alive) in the Alien series.  What happened to the Engineers? Where are they in the Alien series(not a single mention)? What happened to your Space jockeys, did they all die before Alien started(the crew of the Nostromo didn't say: 'it's the Space jockeys!! lets get the hell out of here!')? The derilict on LV426 is really old......)

And if you plan on keeping some Prometheus elements: Peter Weyland is probably not going to send(and certainly not go himself)a trillion dollar spaceship(the 'Evolution') or his son(David)and daughter, to poke a stick at an evil Space jockey(dead or alive). He'd probably just send a military/science spaceship to investigate(just like in 'Aliens')....I think you should write a reason to get Weyland/humanity involved. Shaw is back on earth in a cave looking at paintings( without big aliens in them). The crew of the Prometheus is running errands between Earth and Mars for Weyland corp.

I think Prometheus regarding Weyland was that he knew he had not long left to live and so he had nothing to lose by going along but he had to be kept in stasis so as to prolong the limited time he had left to live.

I like the idea of a Fungus that has a effect on life a Parasitic Fungus and Star Beast did say that the Organism came from Spores...

I like the fungus idea too. Not sure the series needs another 'bug hunt'...should branch out into cosmic horror....

Yes my Space Jockey's died out 3000 years ago when they were overrun by Xenomorphs, and mutated life forms caused by the toxic waste from their experiments. The Kurtz' mission is a mining/terraforming survey of planets fit for commercial exploitation, they weren't specifically sent to Zeta II Reticuli that just happened to be their next stop, theirs is a purely commercial mission. The USC Leviathan was just an exploratory ship in the early days of FTL space travel, which also happened to intercept the same transmission. The company's only motivations were purely profit based, and discovery of the Xeno/Space Jockey race was entirely accidental.

In Alien the Space Jockey race was 1st discovered by the Nostromo, but that doesn't mean that the Space Jockey race weren't still in existence, just that humanity hadn't encountered them yet. It's a big arse universe and they could still be out there somewhere, maybe they are indigenous to another galaxy.Maybe they are all dead. The Kurtz crew don't encounter any living SJ's, only one in stasis, and their ship is destroyed before they get back to Earth, so the company (and Nostromo crew) are unaware of their existence, they only get a little taster of the Xenomorph, and the star system where it was found when they recover the Kurtz' damaged black box. 

The evil Space Jockeys are evil in context with human notions of good and evil, they probably don't think of themselves as being evil. I don't think you need to go ino their motivations as they are an Alien species whose motivations we probably couldn't even begin to understand they are Eldritch (to understand them would drive you insane). I was going to go into the Xenomorph origins but have decided against this,you don't need to know where they came from, this would rob them of some of their mystery(Like the Space Jockeys) all we know of them is that the Space Jockeys were experimenting with them as potential weapons, and their experiments got out of control.
