Prometheus 2 Movie News - Prometheus 2 will answer why the Engineers created the Black Goo Prometheus 2 will answer why

Something that I think has emerged is that there are antagonists to the Engineers. It remains to be seen what form this takes. This did get me thinking and although the goo is considered evil, is it only as evil as those who use it ?

If you consider a viral infection, is it possible that the goo is an antidote to something just as nasty. Is it a case of fight fire with fire. I’m highly intrigued to see how this is going to develop.

Interesting comments.... how Batchpool this fits in is unkown, but yes are we the threat? or is it something else... i cant help but think how can the Ancient Cultures fit in with all this and Prometheus Myth.... but i think they may have changed direction and minds about how they are going with the movie.....   Ridleys comments when added up are interesting when we try to attach them to what we see in Prometheus its still a bit vague.... but if we try and fit in the Ancient Cultures losely and deleted scenes then Ridleys comments seem to fit... but then it apears they are going a different route.... the none showing of deleted scenes and cutting of them....... and the No More Gods.. comment but his latest comments seem to add towards a God.... as well anyone can create life as Holloway said..... all you need is DNA and i guess a fertile planet and so yes nothing Godlike involved.....

But to then sugest how the planets are in the right sweet zone to allow for such Sacrificial Creation to take place.. and that the Planets ability to provide a habitat that can support life is well not a case of Teraforming or just luck of the draw but something else seems to point to a Devine... God connection...

The forbidden fruit of the Garden?

Yes Forbidden Fruit... could losely tie in, but we cant be 100% sure... i felt that at the start and before the change of plans and edit of Prometheus, that indeed in some part the Prometheus Myth losely fitted in....  some claimed from the TED Talk Bonus Material that it was Weyland who was the Prometheus of this movie... i am not 100% sure on that but it could apply to him and indeed how he created life... (David) that may offend his creators (Engineers) and i always felt this theme ran deeper and futher back... i.e Engineers created us without consent of their creators.. etc...

A Tale of Rebelion against Creator and creating something in your own image...

And as there are mild ties to the Bible, then yes the Prometheus Fire Metaphor could be used also as the same as a Forbiden Fruit..... and maybe this is what the Black Goo is.

The Person who had informed me in March about certain plot elements... claimed indeed the Black Goo or its Origins is not a Bio Weapon, but it is a Tool a Powerful Forbiden Tool that only the highest of high are meant to have knowledge and use off it....  That this stuff is related to the Fire of Prometheus and the Forbiden Fruit in the Garden of Eden.

The stuff is not just the Foundation for Creating Life but it is as EVERYTHING! and so i take it that is it what all creation comes from...

It will interesting to see if they explore such things... But it looks like that we would find out Why the Engineers Created such a thing and what the purpose was for...

But we dont know if this is in relation to its use on LV 223 and intended use on Earth... or even going as far as to more than that and the Black Goo's overall use and purpose which would include explanation for why the Engineers Sacrifice themselves with the Sacrificial Go and maybe hopefully try and patch up why it acted differently to the stuff on LV 223.

Im just wondering, Do somebody knows what was that green stone/crystal in which Holloway points with his light? I can't find the answer.

Well... this is a interesting Topic.. and its one i find hard to touch upon.... as far as the Changes...

But if we go for the Original then there was no Green Crystal instead there was the Sacrifical Bowl from the Start of the Movie...

Well similar...... which brought me to the conclusion and i will just make this Quick as i can...

The Mural has a Xeno related Organism in a Cruciform Pose... yes Jesus Pose, but Jesus in Cruciform  does not mean God, it means his Sacrifice... Spaights draft the Engineer when he was being broken down (digested by Nano Scarabs) took a Cruciform Pose, the Concept and Story Board of this Scene likewise shows Cruciform pose... for the Sacrifice...

So i propose the altar that has this Bowl in front of the Mural is to show us that the Organism in the Mural was Sacrificed in the same way as the Engineer and the resulting broken down Genetic Material was collected and placed within the Urns as oppossed to how the Engineers just entered the Water Fall...

To go futher the Organism in th Mural (not Fresco) i think is a end result of experiments of a encounter with a Face Huger or Related Organism they had experimented with a event that somehow lead to the first Chest Buster they had seen and either used this Organism as they worshiped how it allowed our Engineers who may not be able to procreate in the way we can.... this event allowed on of them to Give Birth to something... they worshiped this event as a Miracle and they either used the result.. or futher experimented on the results until the Creature in that Mural was created..

Once they had this PERFECTION... they saw its DNA as superior to their own and thus using its DNA instead of Engineers DNA was to them the next Logical Stage of Evolution...

That was my take on it all... in a Nut Shell.

I hope the black goo origins are more than just-> 'Engineered in a laboratory on Paradise' That would be boring.

Shaw "David you must return to the ship!" Shaw feeling suddenly very alone and helpless.

David ignoring Shaws pleas, continued observing the ritual.

hooded figures were observing the 'Feast', removing any overflowing vials. Smaller creatures were tearing the heads from the Engineers and devouring them like candy...'CRUNCH!'

"The ultimate brain food", David mused.

As all good things must come to a end: A hooded figure noticed David and sent out an alert! Several of the head biting creatures started towards David at tremendous speeds....

David knew he would not survive the encounter....he had only seconds...

David "Goodbye miss Shaw..."

They had been discovered. It was only a matter of time before the creatures found the ship. Panic set in, she didn't know how to start the engines, let alone fly the it! She started pushing any 'button' that looked like it did anything.

Proximity sensors that David had set up for protection, had began to sound in her earpiece! They were coming for her! Her random control pushing had inadvertently opened the cargo hatch. Hundreds of man sized creatures flooded the cargo bay, scaling the walls like ants all seeking their prey.

Shaw knew she was done for.....She grabbed a energy pistol and put it under her chin and pulled the trigger....

Nothing happened. David must have tampered with the weapon.

What i took the green stone to be is what is known as the Lucifer Emerald. It was in Lucifer's crown and is the source of his power over Alchemy. When he fell to earth, the stone split into two. One piece was turned into a tablet and the other was turned into a cup which came to be known as the Holy Grail. It was known as being similar to the Philosopher's Stone in Alchemy, which can transmute any substance into another and even bestow "Eternal Life"

I dont know it actually fits into the movie, obviously they used the the stone to make the vitriol/eitr or maybe it can reverse the affects of infection, which is why all the engineers may have been trying to get into that room. What would be ironic is if all weyland needed for immortality was that gem. Idk why they took it out and replaced it with a bowl but there is a cut away shot in both versions which means they obviously wanted us to see it.

We cant be sure if the Bowl was the Original Shot or not... but it adds up with Spaights draft as far as how the Scarabs work, apply this by replace them with the Goo and as i sugested in my post, then the Cup/Bowl does add up with the Mural and what we see within the Urns and Prometheus...

But indeed the Green Crystal was a Mysterey....  But Galzu as you bring up the Lucifer Emerald and the Fables that are written about this object then yes indeed this could fit in with the Crystal and the Goo, a interesting find as using this Clue it adds up to fit in with the U-Turn on the Goo and maybe how our Engineers are refered to as Fallen Angels and the God Shaw may find would be the Devil....

Then yes its possible... as we saw them try and explain the Goo in a way different than we saw on Screen (Weyland File) Then the Fire and Stone Comics showed it to be slightly different too.

And a source who claimed to know the Draft for Prometheus 2 said the Goo is now the Source of Everything meaning it has more than the use that the Movie Showed and Spaights draft (Scarabs).  So yes maybe they changed their minds and are going the route that could losely link to the Lucifer Emerald and thus replaced the Cup/Bowl with the Crystal as they intend to show us the Goo is more than Originally intended.
