AdminEngineerDec-12-2015 7:09 PMAlien: Covenant will feature the iconic Alien life cycle according to Ridley Scott. This essentially goes against what he originally had planned for the Prometheus sequels. But if we compare everything he's said about the film, I would argue that we won't actually see the iconic Xenomorph but another stage in its evolution.
No, the Deacon and Trilobite from Prometheus likely do not lead to the creation of the Alien. But instead is a subspecies born of similar genetic material.
Ridley says Covenant takes place on a new planet, the Engineer home world. He also says we will see how the Alien was engineered and for what purpose. But he also used the term "evolution".
Because of this, I would argue that the iconic Xenomorph likely won't make an appearance until the end of the film, much like the Deacon.
Throughout the film however, we will see more variations of the Alien species, like in Prometheus, which would match up with the rumors we've been hearing.

MemberFacehuggerDec-12-2015 11:48 PMagree..im almost sure that the iconic human born xeno wont make an appearence till the end
i think they going full ham and present us with 2 deadly types of xenos. Something huge and powerfull that lays eggs resembling a queen but more badass and different that engineers made on their lab
and ofc the deacon who i have faith that will be a unique xeno specie on the top of food chain above all others..a lone wolf that wont be able to reproduce itself in the tradional egg or impregnation way.
also when i see the mural with the black goo....i see a deacon...not typic xeno one.
Could the decon creature be the being that reproduces the black goo? thats why the mural..thats why it is in the center of it...like a god.?

StaffNeomorphDec-13-2015 11:28 AMIm 100% sure we wont see the iconic xenomorphs, but instead the early versions of the xenomorphs like ones from Jon Spaihts' script Alien: Engineers,
like Octo-Facehugger,Beluga-Xenomorph etc.
Ridley said :
"[Alien: Paradise Lost] is going to be it’s own separate thing because [Shaw and David] are going to the planet of the Engineers and they are going to see what happened there.
It was a disaster, and they will be in that alien craft that takes them there but with a new group that’s incoming, a new group of travellers in the beginning of the first act."
Now that being said, the engineer homeworld is dead for long time, and David after learning the agenda and more about the xenomorphs will play God himself and might continue the order of Hierarchy with the black goo included. But will need victims for
that,so the crew of the colony ship covenant is going into trap after finding the engineer homeworld who they think is the Uncharted paradise. If some engineers and their creators make apperance, then they might be the victims too wich would create something more terrifying we've ever seen.
I would really love to see Beluga-Xenomorph.

MemberFacehuggerDec-13-2015 3:49 PMintersting points altho i imagine a adult deacon like that creature the beluga...i think it will be the most vicious yet...i can imagine it being the most inteligent and powefull being..i can see itself control other xenos being a king...reproducing itself in a weird way we never seen before.
the mural is the key...the deacon is in the middle...the engineers made the black goo with a purpose but they knew beforehand the center creature was the goal...the mural represents itself as a god mural...deacon on the center and the black goo around him...he might be the key to the rest of the xeno species..he might be the perfect organism or at least play a big part....being a king to a queen type of being that david will create...and shaw feel its gonna be the vessel for it.

MemberDeaconDec-15-2015 7:43 PMI wont get into the Deacon Mural here.... as i covered it before... it could indeed be the Origin of the Black Goo, it could be the Original Organism that the Xeno came from... i doubt it.... My theory in a nut shell is i think they tried to evolve and re-engineer the Xeno or related Organisms, and using the Biology to try and achieve perfection... once they got that (Mural Deacon) they then Sacrificed it via the same process as the Sacrificial Engineer to then obtain a new Black Goo that contained the DNA of the Deacon in the Mural, the Evolution of the Xenomorph and they saw this DNA as being the perfect base to seed Worlds and upgrade/evolve life as opposed to Engineers DNA. Thats my take in a nut shell and i have covered it in far far greater detail in the past.

MemberDeaconDec-15-2015 7:56 PMAs far as what we shall see in the next movie....... yes there seem a U-Turn to a degree. well just some way to get the clues and answers in earlier than planned, so that a Alien 5 can be cashed in on and released before the Prometheus sequels are all finished... so that Alien 5 is free to do what it wants and touch upon Engineer Tech and Black goo and Xeno DNA and not tred on the toes of Prometheus... so its better to show the Origins more than planned in the next movie, and thus rename it to Alien: Covenant to go with Antisipation and Exploit it from Alien 5, and by giving a more Alien name and Alien clues, it would get more interest than Prometheus movie.. and then with Alien 5 out after... both movies can then build up interest in a Prometheus Sequel part 3 and 4 and a Alien 6, and 6 where Prometheues now Alien Prequel ones can cover Engineers and other creations after the 2nd movie and Alien 6 and 7 can explore all things Xeno and related.
However.... after Ridley had said the Beast is Cooked, only so much Snarling you can do, and how with Prometheus they explored the Engineers more, who was they and why and what else do they create.... and the Black Goo and its connection to Evolution and Life and not just the Xeno... these are things they wanted to explore....
Later they had worked on drafts and came with ideas, that would explore the Engineers and who ever created them and what ever else was created in the Galaxy, while giving us clues to the Xeno and LV-223. Ridley even said he wanted to explore the Evil Biology behind the Xeno and why and who would create such a thing and introduce a fresher form of Xeno in the 3rd act...
Now we are instead being given Eggs, Face Huger and Chest Buster then the Big Guy... why would Ridley go and re-intoduce the done to death Xeno (which he said before) when the potential for Xeno DNA related Life created from the Goo seemed to give more options and something fresh..
Why go that route, why discount the Engineers, why give us Xenos when Alien 5 and 6 and etc would do the same..... WHY?
I think what they are doing is going to show us seeds of these things, we will be shown enough about the Original Xenomorph... i feel either via Flash Back like the Elder and Sacrifical Scene... or via Hologram... this would fit in with the fact the LV-223 outbreak happend thousands of years ago... why we see a Xeno-esque Mural with two kinds of Face Huger, and Frescos where one shows a Xeno Egg.... these things had been there thousands of years ago.
Ridley said the Derelict had been there for thousands of years..... Micheal Biehn said that Alien: Covenant is set thousands of years prior to Aliens.... David is there and he was not created thousands of years ago..
so yes i think we shall see Flash Back/Hologram clues and scenes that would cover the Xenomorph.... but i think David would create something more fresher and Original related to the Xeno.

MemberOvomorphJan-14-2016 9:24 PMI haven't kept up with the details that much lately, but it seems that Scott is doing some backtracking after Prometheus ended up being what it was. I enjoyed it, but I felt it could have been more than what it was. I am being hopeful that the rest of the series is smooth sailing with competent screenwriters.

MemberNeomorphJan-25-2016 1:14 AMI am not really sure if I am that interested in seeing the Xeno that much in the movie. There could be variations of it or something that is close to it like a relative or what ever. There should be some mystery left about the Xeno after they are done with the Prometheus movies. Since the Engineers are supposedly those that made these monsters then you got to make the Engineers interesting. Hopefully we will see some new monsters but in a way that doesn't take away what is interesting about the original alien. As far as pure Alien movies go I am not interested in that, they should have stopped after Alien 3.

MemberDeaconJan-25-2016 10:22 AMits all about the MONEY!
And how some Fans and General Public did not see how Prometheus connected to Alien, they felt the movie should have been about the Alien... Why and When... Prometheus was giving us mild clues and wanted to go off and explore the Engineers.
Blomkamps Alien 5 was getting more Antisipation and interest, and some of the Negative comments with Prometheus was it never answered the Xeno Question... Spaights draft gave more answers and clues... People who watched Prometheus who never knew it was supposed to be a Alien movie connection would not have made any.
Ridley may have had a big idea for the Engineers, but seeing that there was more interest in Alien 5 and how Alien 5 had touched upon some subjects that would have contradicted some plans Ridley had for Xeno/Engineer Tech compared to how Ridley wanted those explored...
I feel they was left with this....
1) Do they bring out 1-2 Prometheus Sequels... where the Xeno Answers are uncovered at the end of the next movie, but only seeds and the 3rd movie would give more or less the Answers but maybe not full blown Space Jockey Story.....
But what if fans want Alien Fix and Answers, if the sequel again does not do this, then fans would not be interested in the 3rd movie.... also how long it would take to make another 2 movies that would than ANSWER the Question of the Xeno Origins and then allow for a Alien 5 to come out and touch upon anything related to the Xeno DNA and Engineers or their Technology.... what would be the Time Frame for that?
Prometheus 2, Prometheus 3 and then Alien 5 it would mean what anotehr 5-6 years say wait for Blomkamps Alien 5 which fans was looking forwards too, and if Prometheus 2 and 3 became a disapointment they could affect the Potential for Fans to want to see a Alien 5, and by then Antisipation would have gone down..... Never mind Casting a Sigourney who would be even Older....
2) Bring out Alien 5 and either have some elements spoil things as far as Engineers Tech, the Xeno Origins of where it came from and what relation the Engineers had with it...
Or remove any connections to the Engineers Tech, and so have it that yep as with Alien, the Company simply has no real clue as to the Engineers Ships and purpose... despite Prometheus Mission etc...
Then bring Prometheus 2 and 3 out after... but if Alien 5 never Answered Alien Origins we get to then Fans not willing to wait 6 plus years for a Alien, 5, Prometheus 2 and then finally Prometheus 3 to get those Answers....
If Alien 5 came out first and gave us more answers... then it would maybe not give good reason for fans to watch Prometheus 2 and then 3 for more concrete answers if Alien 5 touches upon them.
So it was a CATCH 22 Situation....
Which is why the Comming in from the Back End Comment could be key... i think we have a New Plot thats slotted between the events of the Planned Prometheus 2 and Alien 5 so that we get some clues now.. and Alien 5 can then do its own thing, and with a more Alieny Prometheus Sequel with more Xeno DNA and connection explanations... it could lead to Alien 5 being able to do its thing without dreading on the toes of Ridleys Xeno Origins... and then both movies would lead to more Antisipation for a Alien Prequel part 2 (Paradise Lost) that could then give us more Xeno clues and bring the Engineer Connections into play more.
So makes perfect sense... thats how i read into whats going on...
So i expect a sequel to Alien Covenant will give more clues to timeframe between Prometheus and Alien Covenant... as well as more covering on what events and reasons had caused LV-223 to be used as a Outpost to created such Horrific Creatures and what really caused the destruction of those Engineers on LV-223 and why their seems to be non or not many around as of the timeline of Alien..... something MASSIVE happened thousands of years ago that connects the LV-223 Outpost, LV-426 Derelict, Paradise being a world that has seen Destruction and then who these Engineers are and why they create life, and then why create such Evil Bio-Weapons that back fired on them...

MemberNeomorphJan-25-2016 11:22 AMBig Dave: I honestly didn't understood how Prometheus connected to Alien the first times I watched it. Maybe it would have been better with some more clues while not being a Xeno movie. Perhaps I would have preferred a movie closer to the Xenos although I wouldn't have wanted a Xeno movie (already done) if you see the difference.
They should have used more from Spaights although they shouldn't have copied it. Having more from Spaights would probably have made it more interesting to me while it would probably have been more logical than Prometheus turned out to be.
My biggest problem with Prometheus were the characters, not that it was vague with the Xeno connection.
Prometheus 2 could have more about the Xenos but it shouldn't be a pure Xeno movie, that is at least the way I look at it. New monsters would be interesting if they manage to do that right. Maybe they don't need to base it on Giger at all in order to make it new?
Not very interested in Alien 5 at all. P2 should have more answers to the Xeno but I think that the Engineers should be the main enemy (and why they created the Xenos and eventually more monsters without reducing the role of the Xeno). I hope that they will make the Elders (elder engineers) less human since I think that it would make the role of the Engineers better. Having them resemble our DNA so close (if you remember that scene in Prometheus) was a mistake I think.
The Beluga-Xenomorph looks cool maybe they can have it in Prometheus 2 but maybe make it less Xeno-like.
