Will we actually see Noomi Rapace's Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in Alien: Covenant?

AdminEngineerApril 01, 2016Noomi Rapace's involvement in the Prometheus sequel has remained cryptic and misleading as of late. Initial reports stated her and Michael Fassbinder's David were the primary focal points of the sequel's plot. Then came word that Noomi's involvement would be minimal, with a small role. Most recently, sources claim she isn't even in the film at all.
So, either they were lying to us from the get go, or Noomi does play a small, key role in Alien: Covenant.
Could Elizabeth Shaw's existence be one of the film's big twists and so, we're meant to think she's not involved? Or is her story being left unexplained so that it can be revisited in one of the other Prometheus sequels Fox and Scott have planned?
Personally, I feel Shaw won't be completely neglected. She must play a role. She is the only one who can screw David's head back on. David won't be a random head lying on the ground of Paradise when the Covenant arrives. There needs to be more to this back story and there is literally no way it can't involve Shaw.
What are your thoughts? Do you think we're intentionally being told she's not involved to protect a greater secret?
Keep in mind too, it's not a matter of re-casting either. Shaw the character has been left out of the official plot synopsis. I'm remaining skeptical.
