MemberPraetorianMay-24-2016 4:29 AMMy copy of the report arrived yesterday. I opted for the hardcover edition as I felt it would need to stand up to much thumbing through and scrutiny. This is not the Collector's Edition as it doesn't seem to be available here in the UK, as yet.
For two reasons I thought it might be a good idea to create this post.
Firstly for anyone considering buying the book it could serve as a review, and secondly it could be a place for interesting or important information about the entire franchise, but more importantly, facts which may prove relevant to the upcoming ALIEN Covenant and beyond!
I will add more detail as I work my way though each chapter. If anyone has anything at all to add then please feel free to post. That’s the main point of this topic!
On first inspection I have to say that this is a beautifully presented book. You’ll never find a more handsome tome about our beloved Alien, [termed XENOMORPH XX121 by the Company] and it’s horrific lifecycle. It’s a historical timeline of the most frightening creature in the Universe and Weyland-Yutanis efforts to capture, study and exploit it.
The report contains privildged information that is the property of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and opens with a warning, that anyone below a clearance level of S2 found with a copy of the report "can expect immediate termination [of employment] and subsequent legal prosecution."
Beautiful colour images stand out against the black page backgrounds, as does the metallic green text. There are a few images we have seen before, but there's a host of newly created artwork and illustrations, which have absolutely stunning detail and clarity. There are amazingly detailed illustrations of each of the ships, vehicles and weapons used throughout the series as well as potted histories of all personnel, including how they met their demise!
It contains many interesting add-ons, which are attached to relevant pages. These consist of transcripts and final status reports by various crew members ranging from Lambert’s Incident Statement Regarding Quarantine Protocol Deviation, a transcript of Hicks’ Final Status Report, a little eight page novella, named SPACE BEAST by former Fiorina 161 inmate Robert Morse, right through to a copy of the Debriefing of Security Officer Y. Bose, Assigned to USM Auriga in 2380.
There are illustrations of proposed medical and military applications from Xenomorph biology, including an acid spraying Xenomorph Gun! See below...
Thanks go to avpgalaxy amongst others for the images!
