I don't know. You have to remember that ship crashed so body's would have been fly'n all over.....unless! Some black goo got on him just before he faded away.

I would be sure Cloning could exist in the year 2100 in the Franchise? Or when it did, then he could be re-created.
But would he not prefer a Synthetic Body if this was the case?
