Isolation shredded Working Joe

There was a point in the game where a working Joe was found shredded presumably by a Xeno. Strange since in another part of the game, a Xeno approached a Joe that asked the Xeno questions- the Xeno regarded the Joe up close and sauntered off. Any ideas on this?

I remember seeing that in adds for the game and thought that was really out of the aliens behavior.I believe its found in the place where Waits jettisons you and the alien into space.

That Joe might have told the Xeno it wasn't authorized to be in that area and to clam down because it was becoming hysterical.
