metalos: You might be right. I was first thinking of a kind of castling: In 2001 David was the protagonist and Hal the dysfunctional computer. In Prometheus/Covenant David is the dysfunctional computer/synthetic. But I think you might very well be right when it comes to choosing the names.

@ninXeno426 Yeah, maybe when they named David that wasn't the case, but with Walter it became obvious in my opinion. They produced and wrote the screenplay (with Larry Ferguson) for Alien 3.

Maybe it was Coincidence that Prometheus would carry on the Alphabet Order with David (Ash, Bishop, Call) Fire and Stone carried on with E for Elden.

I do however think that Walter is a David 9 model and Walter is just his given name by the Crew or who ever purchased him.

I mean if in the real World we create Androids who are all say David 8 model... would every company that owns one or person who has one as a Personal Butler..

I agree that David name does play well with the continuation of Android Names....

And it also does fit well within the religious undertones that Prometheus was doing as Biblical wise David is a very important Character.
