Trilobite and Facehugger

MemberOvomorphMay-07-2017 1:25 AMWhen the Facehugger attached to Kane we can see this from his point of view for a moment. I watched this scene from frame to frame because i've seen the movie a lot of time but i just noticed this when i last watched it. I made screenshots of the scene.
There are three cords that are coming from within the Facehugger. What are those cords? All of them goes into Kane's throat? Or the Facehugger grabs Kane with them?
In Prometheus, the Trilobite has some similar cords when grabs the Engineer.
But after Dallas and Ash took off Kane's helmet those cords are not visible around his head.
After Cameron and Stan Winston redesigned the creatures the Facehugger has only one thick tube what goes into the host.
What do you think? Have they a similar purpose as the Trilobete's cord or all of them must go into the host to impregnation. This is one of the many reasons why i likes the Alien movies, especially the first one. I always discover something that i haven't noticed before.

MemberPraetorianMay-07-2017 2:01 AMFirst, no one ever thought the movie ALIEN would become what it has, so it's just pure 'let's go for creepy' SfX.
NOW, to analyze in-universe, it makes sense that one tube is the ovipositor and the other two might well go up the nostrils to then access the trachea/airway to provide proper air to keep him alive.
Trilobite...I dunno, but it was an effective physiological design aspect and with significant 'creepy' factor, as having one's head grabbed, 99% of people just hate that, so it gets the audience on that level.

MemberOvomorphMay-07-2017 11:44 AMWow, cool pics. I've never seen them like this, and definitely hadn't recognised three tubes.
I'd say one tube as the ovipositor, one for oxygen and the third tube provides a sustained release anaesthetic to keep the host sedated.
We know none of the tubes provide sustenance as the host wakes up starving.

MemberPraetorianMay-07-2017 12:40 PMmetalos, amazing stills! Your images show how the hugger breaks the helmet, I mean we are inside the helmet, Kane sees this. The tentacles can be seen in the egg before the jump as well:

MemberOvomorphMay-08-2017 10:15 AMYeah that make sense what all of you think about the cords. I don't like the trilobite much too, maybe because it's design or it's size i don't know but it is very weird to me compared to it's "baby" form.

Ati, I enhanced both your 1st image and the above image from metalos.
Ati, your image (above) is very close to the hidden image in the Phobos Covenant crew tests (below).
Has anyone pointed out that the Phobos tests show facehugger images to the Covenant crew (around 2103) that are very similar to the Kane images from 2122?

MemberPraetorianDec-07-2017 1:19 PMIngeniero - If I remember well, some of us jumped to the conclusion that the Phobos test images suggest that Weyland-Yutani knew the features of the creatures before the Covenant mission.

MemberDeaconDec-07-2017 2:46 PMI never noticed that before either nice find...
I would say maybe it has the same purpose as the Trilobites, but then they are omitted in Aliens on wards which also includes Alien Covenant and so its open to debate to try and explain the differences, could it be because the Classic Xenomorph is a Drone? But then AC and AR they are similar too.
@Blackwinter-witch
Thats a decent explanation...
