David

MemberPraetorianMar-02-2017 3:18 AMThe new Covenant trailer has definitely given us more insight to the film, such as giving us better looks at the Protomorph and Neomorph. But David,as well as Elizabeth Shaw, and there roles on "Paradise" remain a mystery. For starters, the photo above is labeled "David to the rescue",but who exactly is he "rescuing"?Where did the flare gun come from?We also have "David's workshop"with a body sprawled out across the table, but who does the body belong too? Some might say Shaw But I think this is unlikely,It's already been theorized that there may have been a separate crew that predates The Covenant, the body,as well as the flare gun likely belong to them, whoever they might be.And we also have the image of what appears to be an engineer city in ruins, with a hooded figure amidst it all, quite possibly David. If this is indeed David(and the evidence suggests it is)then how the hell did he cause that much destruction. We've all theorized that David is possibly responsible for the engineer extinction on "Paradise"but is he really capable of these levels of destruction?

MemberChestbursterMar-02-2017 3:23 PM@Fowleri I was trying to read what you commented but it was just too long. I was part way through it and I just gave up, haha. One question for you, and this is one I should pose to a lot of people that think David experiments on Shaw. Why? He had a connection with her, she saved him. Doesn't he feel he owes her something?

MemberFacehuggerMar-02-2017 7:03 PMDavid could have released the deacon or the black goo. This could have triggered an Engineer fail-safe that cooks all viable hosts in the area to avoid it spreading to other planets. So David didn't do the cooking, he just set up the scenario where the Engineers got cooked.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

MemberFacehuggerMar-02-2017 7:12 PM@Lizard Yessss....I got it! If you really want to know anything private message me. But honestly, just wait the next 3 months and watch it. Regardless, there will still be many questions remaining after this movie. In fact I wonder how they will be able to answer them all in only 2 more movies which Ridley has planned

MemberChestbursterMar-02-2017 7:30 PM@SteveRogers1973 Alright cool! Yeah I think they will answer a few questions but they are gonna keep us guessing until that last movie ties everything up with ALIEN!

MemberFacehuggerMar-02-2017 7:38 PMwhat I think will be really investing is what will happen with Alien 5, the Blomkamp edition. That will take place after Aliens. By the time we reach that point, all these others issues should be resolved so it should be a straight up "bug hunt"! Bring in the big guns. I hope the WY Corp brings in the T-100 as security support for the colonial marines!

MemberChestbursterMar-02-2017 7:40 PMHaha, yeah Alien 5 is very intriguing. I hope it is still gonna happen.

MemberFacehuggerMar-02-2017 7:57 PMOne thing we know for sure...something is crash landed on LV 426 with eggs and face huggers. But when it got there isn't known and if its even an engineer we don't know. And we know that colonists settle on LV 426....and get wiped out. Then LV 426 gets nuked. So what happens after that is unknown assuming Alien 3 and 4 are no longer deemed canon. So something has to remain on the Suloco to keep the show rolling. LV 426 is done. Maybe the story ends up back on LV 223.....who knows

MemberTrilobiteMar-02-2017 8:00 PMI read on the site today that an Alien rule book is being written possibly for future movies?
SteveRogers1973
MemberFacehuggerMar-02-2017 8:12 PM@dk - yes, I've read the same and think its a great idea to maintain the integrity of the canon. If there is a set "rule" book then the canon can just carry on so long as there is a viable story line

MemberNeomorphMar-04-2017 10:01 AMIs it just me that finds it disappointing if it was David that killed the Engineer specie? Them going extinct because of a civil war would be more interesting. Maybe it could be alright if David killed many of them (he wants to be at the top of the ladder so to speak) but to make him responsible for all Engineers dyeing would be too much.

MemberPraetorianMar-04-2017 1:00 PMThoughts_Dreams:I have a theory that it's possibly accidental.Chris observed that there's a water fall behind the Juggernaut, and also water flowing through it as well.If we assume that the Juggernaut that David and Shaw left had a payload of black goo(and it's a safe assumption)then it's likely that they crashed and the black goo contaminated the water.I've already said,in here i believe, that if the water is indeed contaminated, then it would likely lead to something akin to mass hysteria. The water of course work's it way into lakes, rivers, and eventually the ocean. It would then subsequently be absorbed into the atmosphere and be disseminated across Paradise via rain. Now imagine what a rain of black get contaminated water would to a civilization, first it would fertilize the world potentially creating the plants that cause the spores, but on the negative side the civilization would likely go mad and destroy itself.Imagine a world of Fifeld's just killing each other.
