Chris is from Canada, wow! :)
I'd like to know where S.M is from.
And nobody from Asia?

Neo, Chicago isn't called the Windy City for no reason. Everything is lake effect and the winds coming into the city aren't blocked so they have time to build up speed before hitting the towers and creating wind tunnels between the high rises. -40° then add in 30+ mph winds between the buildings. Winter Sucks ARSE in Chi-Town

Yes Rick I'm aware of that (thanks anyway), it was still a bit of a shock for me as a cold-resistant Swede the first time I was there.
I thought I could endure cold temperatures, but the winds there were like "f*** you how about this in your face".
The only thing that beats a freezing day in Chicago during the winter in my travel experience is Svalbard, situated in the Arctic Ocean north of Norwegian.
The northernmost airport in the world is there. Speaks for itself really.
Severe winds and only specially trained pilots are allowed to land there.
You open the doors of a passenger jet and a snowstorm literally enters the cabin.
Yeah, your balls are stuck on the seat when you leave the aircraft.

Yeah my boys turtle up in Chi-town and screw Svalbard. Chicago is bad enough. I migrated to a warmer climate.
Steve, what part of Cincy? Inside or outside the loop?

Ha Ha DK
Not quite.... Then again i was born in the Black Country and raised in Birmingham until after i left School then back to nice and Sunny Black Country LOL
Nowt to much shout about from here that our international folk on here would know about.... Like who would know who Lenny Henry is ;)
Town i am in now is a really old one back in the days and was in the Doomsday Book... once the heart of England and one of the main Industrial Revolutions... where a lot of WW2 Metal work was carried out... i live like 800 Meters from where Many a UK WW2 Tank Torrent was made. Still have the Pool that they used to cool the Metal in... and the Pool has always had the rumor its bottomless.. when years ago nothing would float in it due to the chemical effects on Water Buoyancy
At least we in Black Country have one claim to FAME!!!
The Dudley Dorito ;)
And i am lucky enough to have seen in in 1996
But i will add DK my mom did go to a School for a bit that Ozzy Osborne went to, a lot of facts about him are wrong he was not from Aston.. but between Stetchford and Bordsley Green
But than again when people from other countries or counties as me where i am from its easier to say between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, so its same kind of thing
Update.... near the Hodehill estate for those who want to know.. And there was no Bats there lol

Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia. And I have a red tabby cat named Jones!

Privet Neomorph. I've yet to read Metro2034; heard talks of a series or a movie based on some Glukhovsky works, hope they get decent financing )).

I hope they make a film based on the Metro universe, but since the games are already based on the first two books, maybe it would be a better idea to do a standalone film (or series) related to said universe.
Preferably with Russian actors for once (not foreign actors speaking English in Moscow) and Dmitry working closely to the director throughout the whole film process to realize his vision as accurately as possible.
The Metro universe is probably the darkest, most harsh post-apocalyptic universe I could imagine. It's like the considerably darker, more evil cousin to the similar post-apocalyptic and irradiated wasteland from the Fallout series.

Hello, I come from 'MURICA! F*CK YEAH! WE'RE COMIN' AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERF*CKING DAY YEAH! XD

Sorry to say guys but I'm another damn Brit, from East Lancashire - famous for Hollands Pies, Eric Morecambe, Lee Mack, Ian McKellen and Accrington Stanley (who are they...)
Over the past 5 to 6 years here we have seen many peeps from all corners of the globe, which I think is pretty damn cool considering Scified is still pretty much a niche network of sites. Don't worry our plan for world domination is at hand, if only we knew how to get out of this cage (NARF)

Lots of memers here.Lots of members who can help recite the Alien script on the Alien script recite 2.0 thread. There is a cool prize for the winner. Sorry for the OT shameless plug.

The screwed-up weather here ain't from global climate change, it's ALWAYS been messed-up. :D
We BBQ when it's -35 Celsius, and the biggest problem is your beer freezing.
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

Same here in the Great NW in the States. I thought we were the only ones who made beer that freezes lol!

You Are Not Alone. :)
I will also mention that if one sticks a bottle of whisky to chill outside, well we learned the hard way that below -27C, whisky freezes solid. :D
Whiskycicles...made in Canada :D
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

Blackwinter-witch You win. Whisky never froze in The Thing! Canada is a beautiful country but I don't envy its winters.

Yeah, up here to make things different, we can put whisky-cubes into a glass of water for a drink that gets stronger as the 'ice' cubes melt. :)
So, ya think whiskycicles would sell down there?? :D
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

lol anything alcohol-related would sell in Australia....sadly.
That being said i do enjoy a bourbon on the rocks, so your whiskeycicles sounds good to me.

Yeah, I've heard about how popular alcoholic beverages are down there, especially beer. :)
Looks like we have a pretty decent representation globally, at least we're off to a decent start with this topic.

SteveRogers1973 and Rick. I have family in Bellaire, Ohio just across the river from Wheeling, West Virginia. Shadyside to be exact. I went to Oglebay park in the Winter and in the Summer a few times when I was a kid.
