MemberFacehuggerApr-12-2017 5:08 AMHi,
I'm Ranting Xeno and I'm a Alienholic.
My real name is Colin. I currently reside in Bristol, England. I'm not English though, I'm a Scottish lad that moved south of the border (originally from Dundee).
I'm a software developer (exceptionally boring but it pays the bills). Love this site, I've been an avid lurker from way back when it was for Prometheus.
Only just built up the courage to sign up to the forums (usually avoid public interaction). Great crowd on here. Intelligent, insightful, friendly and welcoming. Everything an alien addict requires, to alleviate the stress of the wait!
Exactly 1 month today! 1 month! Woohoo!
I'm an open book, if you want to know anything further; please, just ask.
Take it easy, folks :)

Grew up in the Star Wars/Alien Era.
Convinced my mum to take me and a friend to see Alien after watching the ads for months and reading everything I could read about it. My first "R" movie, at the age of 10!
After that, non stop SCIFI fan, but "alien" topped em all.
Other than that, music composer/writer, jingle writer, guitarist, pianist, Hammond organist, etc...

My real name is Daniel - I'm a psychoanalyst and psychologist from São Paulo, Brazil. Despite being a huge Alien fan since the first time I watched A L I E N, I came to discover this forum only some months ago, and what an awesome surprise! Already addicted to this, and so glad to be around such cool and brilliant minded people.
Nice topic, @Movie fan!
@Ranting Xeno I love your avatar picture.

I'm Lone/Carole from the dark, depressing depths of NE Scotland.
Been around since the Prometheus forum era. It's wonderful to be amongst like-minded people, as I have to pretend to be a sane grown up in real life!
Hyper-excited as the release date for A:C approaches. Sir Ridley is my favourite director and A L I E N and BR are my favourite films. I do have a great fondness for PROMETHEUS too.

Real name - Jamie
Surveyor for a large construction firm, family man with young children based not far from Birmingham in the U.K.
Around 1985 when I was about 10, I was forced to watch Alien on VHS by my older sister and her friends
At that age I was truly disturbed and fascinated with Alien and it left an indelible mark on me
Massive Fan of Alien, Aliens and Bladerunner, but with special interest of malefunctioning synthetics, which Ridders pulls off so well
I will take this opportunity to thank creators and contributors to this wonderful site, escapism at its best

Name's Saunders. I live in Toledo, Ohio, USA.
A Nineties kid, I was a Jurassic Park nut and I played DooM for a large portion of my childhood. Got into Star Wars when I was in high school with Revenge of the Sith, which led to picking up Joseph Campbell and further evolution into a love of mythology.
Supposedly an adult, I'm a laboratory technician at an optical laboratory. Got a BA from Michigan State (studied Zoology, History, and Writing) back in 2011. Also have a Teaching License from the State of Ohio, although since they changed the regulations it's not worth much since it's only good for teaching Biology (even though I'm trained to teach other science courses) and schools want to hire people with the new "integrated science" license. Ah well.
I like to collect action figures, coins, and good books. Interests include Buddhism, SF books/film, guitar, science, the outdoors, and the aforementioned mythology. I also have about a hundred classic-DooM/DooM II wads on my computer that I like to play when I'm in a bad mood.
Got into ALIEN when I was eight, and it scared the hell out of me. Only Carpenter's "The Thing" had a similar effect when I saw it when I was ten, although it wasn't as scary as ALIEN. I must admit that seeing those movies at such impressionable ages, combined with my DooM obsession, must've desensitized me somewhat--I've never since been scared by a movie. A few cheap thrills, like in Shyamalan's "Signs" (at least until they showed the very-CGI creature), but nothing frightened me. PROMETHEUS (which is a movie I enjoy greatly) had a few moments that made me want to hurl (gratuitous oral rape scenes will do that), but it didn't scare me. Can't wait for COVENANT; sure hope I finally get to be scared by a movie--as an adult, and especially IN A MOVIE THEATER. Just once I'd like to experience being horrified by a horror movie while surrounded by a hundred other frightened souls.
Really enjoy this forum. I've lurked around on it since it was still a Prometheus site, but only recently joined. This is a great community, especially since us ALIEN freaks don't stick out much in a crowd, unlike Star Wars fanboys or Trekkies, and are thus rather hard to come across.
Cheers to all!

MemberFacehuggerApr-19-2017 4:38 AMThank you for that great topic!
Greetings, I am Inquisitor Fifield.
My real name is Armina Keum and I am from Frankfurt, Germany.
I was born in 1985 and currently work as an engineer, oh and I watched Alien for the first time when I was only 3years old.
That probably disturbed me for life and developed a couple of mental illnesses, such as social anxiety disorder and paranoia.
I am here because of an unhealthy obsession for fictional nonsense and a severe case of autism.
Nice to meet you.

Hello, great topic here! So I'm from New Jersey, USA, I'm 18 years old, I'm a senior in high school, I work part-time at a retail store, blah blah blah.
I've always had an interest in sci-fi, I really loved diving deep into Area 51 conspiracies and reading synopses for sci-fi films online (I was too scared to watch them.) Last year, (after reading the synopsis for Alien and its counterparts hundreds of times), I came across Aliens in full on Youtube. I guess I had mustered up the courage, so I watched it. (I know, shame on me for watching Aliens before Alien.) Nevertheless I was fascinated by the film and I immediately had to see the rest of the franchise. Later that same week I went to a store and spent about $40 on the Alien Anthology. I went home, hunkered down in front of the TV, and blew through all 4 films. I felt like I had been a fan for a lifetime rather than just a few days.
Only very recently I watched Prometheus, which is a movie I find to be incredible. It heightened my excitement for Covenant, so I started researching everything about the new film. Thats when I came across this forum. I spent a few days lurking, and then I decided to create an account. I'd just like to say that I have never been a part of a forum with such inviting and friendly members. Everyone is intelligent and funny, and certainly makes the wait much more tolerable. :)
What's the story, MUTHUR?

MemberFacehuggerApr-19-2017 7:13 AMHello Everyone,
My name is Drew & I live in the USA.
I have been enamored with 'The Big Guy in the Chair', since I first saw 'ALIEN' on HBO in 1980 at the age of 12! I could not have been more excited when I learned of Sir Ripley's intention to do more movies in this world of the Engineer!
I saw each Star Wars movie three times in the theater in 1977, 1980 & 1983. I have a Star Trek father who is also fascinated by the questions created by 'Prometheus'.
I have been here for 5 years & am now so happy to see the new movies in the works to follow 'Prometheus'! I cannot wait to get to see them all!
I am sure you all could see that I am also a huge 'X-File' fan!
I am so happy to be a part of this page & to interact with you all! I am constantly intrigued by the thought & perspectives from you all!
Thank-you!!

MemberFacehuggerApr-19-2017 7:24 AMGood Morning!
Real name is David- I live in Orlando Florida and work at Universal Studios in their Marketing dept.
I have been on this site since 2012 going back and forth on Prometheus theories prior to the films release, and even a long time after! That damn mural always bugged me and so did the changing mural on the ceiling. Prior to Prometheus the Alien series always had a place in my heart. Growing up in the 80's exposed me to Aliens and the Aliens arcade game that I spent a crapload of quarters on.
Super stoked for Covenant and cannot wait to see it finally!! Just got my tickets for Thursday May 18th at 7 PM....so after my viewing I will be on here all night!!

MemberFacehuggerApr-19-2017 10:04 AMHey all! My name is Riley. I'm from Pennsylvania, USA. I remember my cousin forced me to watch the directors cut of Alien when I was 10 and I was captivated. The monster fascinated me so much, and I've been a fan of the series ever since!
Adoxographic Content
MemberOvomorphNov-10-2017 1:11 PMSalutations!
I'm Adoxographic Content, real name is Jensen. No last names, I'm a bit neurotic that way.
Born in California, lived all over - currently stuck in the unrelenting hell that is the Southern United States. I can't even remember the first time I saw Alien, but I was endlessly fascinated by everything on screen. This continued through each sequel and probably set off my love for the horror genre in general.
My excitement for the continuation of the series is strong, even though some of the more recent films have had some awfully silly elements (Prometheus school of running, lol).
Aand...I'm out.

These threads can be fun once in a while. It is interesting to see how many countries are represented here and that there is a common interest in the Alien franchise.

MemberDeaconNov-13-2017 5:31 PMWell i am Dave... like you would not guess...
Massive Sci-Fan in General... and Horror among many other Genres.
From a Place at the Heart of England Called the Black-country, and a Town that is one of the oldest towns in England, but could be a slight exaggeration but dates back nearly 1500 years, even mentioned in the Doomsday Book, even have 650 year old Pub near by... i think those who are not from the UK and those who do not have English as there first Language would struggle to understand the Black Country Original Dialect, because its one of the few places that use the oldest origins of what became English and well it would be very confusing to folk who are not from these parts... Yorkshire also has dialect that is similar.
For Fun you could give me a Sentence, a Quote, a Joke or anything and i can translate it to "ye olde black country for yow"
*Yow not being a Typo... but just a Ancient way of saying You ;)

LOL indeed there is a Pub not far from me Called THE ROOST, and features a impressive Cockerel on its Sign Post. I joked maybe it would be funny if someone renamed it the Cock-Inn ;)
But indeed i live in a area that Pre Industrial Meltdown... when their was many Factories, this area had a abundance of Pubs, i would even Dare say among the Largest Number Per SQ Mile in the World. (maybe)
About 30 years ago, you could walk to about 50 Pubs within 30-40 min Walk.
As far as the Rock Connections, indeed the West Midlands was very influential.
Ozzy Osborne Actually used to go to a School my mother had attended. My mothers side of the Family come from Birmingham.
