Alex has always had an obsession with Hammerpedes.

It's definitely a possibility, and they'd be below the holographic recorder-cameras most likely, then you have the distorted quality which would also hide them.
Perhaps they ended up dealing with something akin to hammerpedes, but larger, faster and stronger...those suits look to be pretty tough and we can tell from the ineffective shotgun blast the Engineer was hit with that it takes a LOT to hurt them and the suits were breacher...so, yeah, maybe Hammerpedes but bigger and badder??

SO many QUESTIONS :D Love this universe for that...the Mystery-feel is pervasive!

Well, the hammerpedes are pretty cool critters, and in my writing I am exploring them a bit more than just what PROMETHEUS showed us. :D
They're kind of an 'under-rated' monster.

Between the new, and Brilliant, Animated Series found here as well as this Topic, I will be doing some heavy editing of the entire LV-223 'block' in the story, as there's a wealth of inspiration that I didn't have before, and which now allows me to make things much richer, more complete, and with more significant details. :)

I've been fighting with the LV-223 'block' for a while, but now I can finally get it sorted out and built-up to a level I'm satisfied with, and I hope you all will enjoy.

But remember, I do HARD-R Rated material, just like The Ridley. ;)

Indeed the Hammerped theory is something that i concluded is most likely a few years back.  The reasons for it in the short version.

*Chest Busted Engineer Cryo-sleep Pods on the Juggernaught.

The Questions are, did this happen before the Outbreak, or after the Outbreak... i will give my verdict soon.

*Worms are Native to LV-223 well they was there before the Prometheus Crew arrived in the year 2093

So if the Engineers did not leave and no one else arrived prior to Prometheus and after the Outbreak this means those Worms had been on LV-223 for thousands of years.

*Worm+ Black Goo = Hammerpedes.

Outbreak thousands of years ago could potentially had created Hammerpedes in the past.

*Hammerpedes seem to evolve Worm Traits (Regenerate).

Worms are for the most part  EGG LAYERS and so if this trait is also evolved, imagine the outcome....

*Worms/Hammerpedes would need to Mate.

Worms are mainly Hermaphrodites they are both Male and Female, however they cant procreate on their own (some species can) but in most cases TWO Worms Mate and Fertilize each others Eggs...   We see TWO Hammerpedes Together.

*What Purpose did it have to go down into Milburns Mouth.

The Franchise shows us the Organisms (Aliens) Procreate via implantation of a Embryo (Alien Franchise) but Alien Covenant introduces the Spores for the Neomorphs... And Prometheus we also have Shaws infection.. 

But the common theme remains that a Parasitic like incubation occurs to create Alien Life from the Host Body of a Victim.   Why would it be different with the Hammerpedes thus who knows if the Hammerpedes lay Eggs inside a Hosts Body this would explain the reasons for going down Milburns Mouth 

so its possible the Hammerpede can Procreate, and if it Lays Eggs then we are left with the following questions.

1) Does the Hammerpede Lay Eggs, and these then Produce either more Hammerpedes, or some other Organism that acts like a Face Hugger or can transmit a Parasite?

2) Does the Hammerpedes Eggs need a Host to incubate in and Evolve into a Organism?

We need to look at how the Chest Buster Type Events we have seen always leads to a Organism that takes on traits from its Host, which includes the Xenomorph, Deacon and Neomorphs.

Why would the Hammerpede be any different?

so indeed their is the Potential for Hammerpedes Infecting some Engineers with a Parasite/Egg that evolves into some Organism that Chest Bursts.

I cant think of a better explanation for the Space Jockey event prior to Alien Covenant, other than some other Organism that was created Lays Eggs or Egg Morphs Hosts.

This Concept Work is Labeled ALIEN- Hugger Centipede 1

Alien because this was concept work he worked on while the movie was still based on Spaights Alien Engineers.

So indeed if the idea for the Original Design was to be some kind of Face Hugger, then its not far fetched to expect the Prometheus Hammerpedes are the same.

Or could be explored as such.

My Prometheus 2 was interesting, i found how to fit in the whole Engineers, Creators etc Agenda into it all as i had a few theories that contradict each other a bit and i could not just figure out any one particular...  i was pushing more towards the Annunaki Tale with a more Sinister twist than Mining for Gold, but then i liked the other theory i had too... so i just gave up

If i was to finish that project off which would be a alternative to where Ridley Scott is taking the movie, then indeed it would be to look and take that idea, plus add what the Source hinted at which kind of is similar... and mix it with HR Gigers Original Idea.

I which case... that one sticking point... would now be this...

I can share this idea if you like, its basically a interpretation of Gigers Ideas, but fit it within the context of the Franchise and Prometheus.

I am not a great Writer, i am more someone who can come up with a Story like Blomkamps 10 Page Synopsis... i do then attempt to make a story from it but its far from a actual readable draft, it would need to be edited by someone else.

My Draft would span over TWO movies though... it had a Dream of David where he encountered a younger Weyland and where he remembers Weyland telling him about creation and gods.

He had this dream as he looked on to Shaw in Cryo-sleep trying to wonder what she is dreaming of as he cant see her dreams now.

But we do see her dreams, she dreams of a Funeral of her Grandmother (played by Weaver) who took Shaw in when her Father Died, it was a not do Ripley as her Grandmother was Ellen Shaw... Ellen Shaws Cousin was there too Pregnant, the child father away with the Marines a Corperial Ripley...  Then Shaw askes her Cousin if she has a name for the child she says i will call her Ellen after Nan...

There was a twist at the board meeting on Mars where Weyland Brother Micheal was to take over (voiced by Lance Henriksen) as only seen via Hologram, his Son was the only Heir to the company after his father with his Uncle Peter and Cousin Vickers missing.

As the board is to sanction control over the company, we see a shuttle arrive, then inside we see a Laptop open with Peter Weyland giving his Last Will and Testament, leaving the company to Vickers and to ensure his David 09 Protocol and Model makes full Production... they Laptop is closed.

We enter board room, where Micheal Weylands Son and board members agree with no sign of Prometheus after 6 Months no contact that the process begins to have the company absorbed by Micheal Weyland who owns 15% then as they are about to sign the documents.

A Familiar Voice is heard.... saying not so fast..  it is Vickers.

She then takes over, as she has her Fathers Shares and hers and in effect Fires Micheal's Son on the Spot...  and tells Micheal that he like her Father will soon by dying and the company belongs to her and cuts a Speech about a Prince in Waiting to become King who is beaten to the Throne by the Princess the Kings Daughter.

The corporate side of things we go to Yutani who have information about Prometheus and LV-223 as they provided the Communications Systems and Software and they intercepted and encrypted the signals... They plan to send their own mission to LV-223

They then make a pact with Micheal Weylands Son, as he is bitter and thought with Vickers dead the company would be his, the Yutani CEO tells him she should be dead as she was 100% on the Prometheus...  he then makes a Covenant with Micheal Weylands Son, that if he can remove Vickers then he would become Heir to the Throne .. in return they want a Share of Weyland Company, a Merger and Yutani want all Rights to the Synthetic Patents and Military, while Weylands Nephew gets Medical and Terra-forming etc.

Latter in the movie, Vickers is attacked by TWO Geisha Androids, they do not look as real as David 8 they are more Artificial, these Geisha dispose of Vickers Guards.  Then attack Vickers, but she fends them off and actually beats them...

Then we see Vickers is bleeding White... Weylands Nephew walks in and Vickers sees him and calls him a traitor, he then says the company is his, She says thats not her Fathers Wishes... He says her Fathers wishes are irrelevant as she is a Robot who has no Rights to the company... She said i have activated the David 9 Protocol... he laughs and says the Synthetics Department now belongs to Yutani and she goes to attack him but his guards shot her and then he has a word with her and shoots her in the head.

The trick to staying motivated in writing, is learning to accept the enjoyment of curling up inside your own universe. I would LOVE to hear more of your ideas and thoughts, any and all you're wilking to share because it sounds to me like you have a REALLY solid grasp of the total, Genuine ALIEN 'feel'!!

Loved the pic of the Original Hammerpede, and yeah, I can see that somewhere on LV-223. The original Giger work, I've always loved that and TY for posting it!

For me, ALIEN: Manticore is a 'love letter' to the ALIENverse and it's Creators, and I want to do the best I can. :)

The start we see a Engineer Ship flying through space and clouds like the start of Prometheus.. we think its David and Shaw.. but its not, it enters LV-223 and we see it heading to the Temple Mounds... we enter inside and see Engineers, then they walk over to the Cryo-Pod and Look down and inside we see a Primate...  Then it flashes to Shaw in the Cryo Pod as David watches over wonders what she is dreaming... he has his dream....

So the idea was to show the Engineers came back and forth they would take Primates, Evolve them on LV-223 then seed them back, then take this evolved life in thousands of years back and further evolve... so this happens over and over.

I was stuck on the Whole Agenda though, had it down to 3 but could not figure which to go with so i abandoned it... i also lost a lot of what i wrote... i can remember a lot roughly though.

The draft gives us back story to the Engineers, but the end is when David and Shaw arrive i was going for this as the end as i was not sure which way to take it...

The movie also ends with a Yutani Ship landing on LV-223

A Sequel would cover David and Shaw on Paradise, and Yutani Ship on LV-223

Catching up on your longer posts, which REALLY have some great points and Questions to consider...and yeah, the chest-bursted hypersleep pods on the juggernaut...NO mention ever made of that even though the holes are GLARINGLY obvious to the characters!

LV-223 could well have an Early Stage biosphere, or perhaps the area we saw in the film is one of the areas of the planet with a very limited ecosystem and related critters?

Good reasoning about the Hammerpede invading Milburn the way it did. Also, it might be akin to some parasitic critters here on earth that parasitize a host, like those crustacean-things that live in a fish's mouth, yet don't necessarily kill the host. Milburn looked 'burned' from some caustic agent (maybe some limited acid spray or slight exposure to black goo) and his helmet was shattered, so I think Fifield did him in before leaving for the Prometheus.

The rest...man, you've given me a LOT to ponder!! :D

Look up 'Ghostwriters', that's a service that sounds to be exactly what you need.

You have an Intriguing narrative I think many in the fanbase would very much appreciate!!

Well my idea roughly that if i was to finish it off now for the Engineers Agenda is this..

The Engineers Elders was created or came across by a Alien Race/Machine that made a pact with he Elders they would be given Technology and Knowledge and Allowed to Survive if they could be used as Sacrifices for this Alien Races Agenda and Weapons that this Alien Race use in a War, far far away.

The Elders started to Procreate and Rebel, so these Alien Beings had killed the Females, as they used them for their own Agenda.  They kept some Females, but killed the rest so they could control them...    Eventually the Females died out.

The Alien Race then resulted to Cloning the Elders to create Engineers.

The Derelict Ships are living Bio-Weapons created by this Alien Race, they required Genetic Material and had Females Attached to Machines that would use their Eggs... Females are attached to a Sacrificial Chamber in the Ships and their Eggs passed onto Devices that incubate and evolve these Eggs into Xenomorph Eggs.

They also had Machines that would Clone the Elder Engineers to be Sacrifices..... as a deal between them broke down.. the Alien Race attempted to destroy the Elders.

The surviving Elders, took over and made a Pact, where they would Clone themselves the Alien Race Agreed, but they reduced the numbers of the Elders.

There Race would get old and old, less and less, with no Females,  The Clones started to not be ideal and so the Alien Race came back for the Elders to Sacrifice.

The Elders Created the Engineers and used them to Create Mankind, so that they may one day get Females back....

The Cloned Engineers helped they Elders battle and defeat the Alien Race and they reverse Engineered the Technology.

Then the Elders plans to Evolve Humans to be the new begining of their kind angered the Cloned Engineers, who Rebelled against them and attempted Dominion over Mankind.

The Elders decided to use one of the Alien Races Bio-Weapon Ships on the Engineers, who was meant to watch over Mankind... but this mission failed...

The Engineers on LV-223 then reverse Engineered this Bio-Weapon into the Black Goo, and used it on the Home-world and then intended to use it on Earth.

This is roughly the idea i was going to go with... its one of 3 i had... i can modify this a bit... this is just rough idea that needs some tinkering with... that when i adjusted one thing, it made other things not work out so well so i abandoned it

Other stories i was working on are mainly TWO more.

One was a Alien Resurrection Parallel story, where a Failed Ripley Queen was taken away to be experimented on at another Facility along with some Ripley 8 DNA.

This Facility Cloned the Failed Ripley Queen, and got it to survive and experimented on it, it produced Hybrid Aliens that was like the alternative New Born..

They Procreated by Infecting Hosts.... Males would mutate into Hybrids.... like this

Or like the Warhammer 40K Genesteeler Hybrids

Females would Mutate into like Giant Sacks, well they would become Birthing Machines to Eggs that would Release,  Hybrid Face Huggers that would Cause Hosts to Chest Burst something between the Baby-Head and this concept.

The Facility managed to use Ripley 8 DNA with their Super Solider Weapons Division to make Super Clones to Battle the Xeno Hybrids.

THE OTHER STORY...

Is based around the time of Alien on a Distant Moon, were Humans are mining for Minerals and Detect near a Volcano, a Source of Metal but when they get there its hard to find what some samples had uncovered a Metal that they have never seen before..

They continue to Mine, while a Ship comes in with Special Equipment, this ship and its crew land... they set out to the base of the Volcano where the Rock is to hard to Mine, but the New Equipment breaks thought but the samples do not match the unknown element they found...

They continue to excavate and uncover a Cave, this cave has like Spores hanging from the Ceiling like the Pods from Gremlins,  they then find a Body of a Engineer, Chest Busted they bring this back for testing and find its very Human looking.

As they continue to mine, some of them get infected by the Spores which grab onto their Faces and Implant a Embryo... alternatively i was thinking that Squid like Organisms come out and they Face Hug the Victims...

This creates a Xenomorph similar to the Fresco Organism, that goes on killing rampage and attempts to Egg Morph a Crew Member, they kill the Egg Morph just as a Giant Squid with a Beak like Gigers Concept comes out of the Egg Morph.

They kill the Alien too, and then decide to Blow up the Cave... this then reveals another buried Cave thats actually a Derelict Ship.

They explore this and go to the Pilot Room and wake up a Engineer who goes on a rampage, but is then killed off when another Egg Morph Victim, gives birth to another Beaked Face Hugger and this attacks the Engineer.

The survivors then set the Power Plant to Blow up, that causes the Volcano to Erupt burying the Outpost, the Caves...

We then cut to the Engineer who runs to his Ship before the explosion and then we see him Chest Busted with something a bit like the Ultramorph, but it is trapped on the Ship Buried alive.

This Story i was going to call Alien Ascension

The other i had not come up with a name, i had only got as far as a more broader Synopsis and ideas for both than above but i abandoned these ideas mid 2014 around May-June. 

Bit funny some of the ideas are a bit like things we are seeing now, i made a post about these ideas about 2 years or so ago..

I may have to start to rework on them.

It's still very promising!! Has a great deal of potential, and I think a decent ghostwriter would be able to help you bring it fully into developement!!

Now that I've caught up, yes, a ghostwriter would have enough to work from, and with you supplying added info during the writing, I suspect both storylines would turn out very well!

Back to the Topic... indeed i think if the Hammerpedes did not kill the Space Jockey then it would be interesting to see what becomes of the Hammerpedes...

Those Chest Busted Engineers bodies do look like Deacon Chest Bursts but the Cryo Pod above them the holes are too small for Chest Buster Deacons

Alien Covenants Xenomorph is not as Bio-Mechanical, it also seems to Birth a Bambi Buster and not a like Snake like Body like the Alien Chest Buster

So i think we can assume that the Hammerpedes could indeed Procreate, if it Lays a Egg then these Eggs will either Hatch a Organism similar to itself or with more Xeno DNA, or some kind of Face Hugger, which when it infects a Host will create a Hybrid that passes on Hammerpede DNA to a Humanoid Host to create  Bipedal Alien.

Alternatively indeed having them lay a Egg that takes on Hosts DNA and well as Hammerpede DNA would lead to a interesting Organism.  That may carry the Egg Laying Traits over from the Hammerpedes

I have a number of Sci-Fi ideas, i was working on a Thing Sequel set in Space, about 5 years ago i had this idea but its actually a bit like LIFE lol

Only based on the Moon Titan, and the Story was called The Titan, i only got as far as deep synopis... but its basically similar to Life, only they find it on the surface of the Moon Titan, when a Probe Lands called Titan 1 and brings Samples and a Dead Alien Organism.... this then starts to come to life and they study it and then it starts to assimilate the crew, exactly like the Thing.

I have not seen Life or know 100% the Plot though...

I have all these ideas but sometimes i dont write them down the other week i had the idea for a Plot of a Movie where a Space Ship arrives between Jupiter and Mars, well close to Mars, the USA and Russia discover it, they get a Deep Space Probe to take Photos but the Russians Hack it and so only they get the Photos.... Russia and USA then battle for a Space Race... Russia Lunches First, they arrive first then USA do and on their way they discover via there ships telescope this Craft is very Futuristic and Human and has Markings in Alphabet on it.

Russians arrive and Dock with it, they discover Dead Mummified Humanoids its hard to make out, they discover the Systems are advanced but are in English... the Power is down and on Emergency and they cant access rest of the ship.

The USA ship is inbound, the Russians managed to gain a bit of power and bring the Derelict Ship (Human looking) to life and find a Cryo-sleep area and awaken the crew to find they are Humans.

The Humans are alarmed and ask whats going on, Russians threaten them then shoot one in the leg as the Ships Humans try and rush to the computer... the Russians ask what they are doing here... The Humans on the ship say we have arrived to dock with Mars Base Beta 2, The Russians say there no such thing and think these are Americans on a Secret USA Space Mission, we would get some interesting conflict where the Russians dont believe them... the Humans realize the Russians are Russian and tell them that Russia split up, its no longer Russia... they Russians get mad... the Humans claim they had left Mars in the year 2177 due to arrive back after a mission in he year 2192....  But the year is 2028 they have gone back 150 years in the past.

The USA ship arrives and we get some fighting and stuff, the Russians want this ship because of the Advantage the Technology gives the Russians... the idea in the end is the Russians are killed....

The Future Humans cant repair the ship, they then agree (as some killed by Russians, some died as Cryo-sleep failed).. they agree to try and set up a colony on Mars, but the USA Party tell them eventually Mankind will arrive on Mars and find them... the discover could change the course of history...

So the few survivors make a pact some will come back with he USA Crew and vow never to divulge what happened, while one of the Humans and a Seriously injured USA astro naught agree to pilot the ship towards Satan and Crash it into the Surface

It has no way to enter Warp Speed or how it could get back to the year 2177 so they had to use basic thrust to destroy it.

They discover instead of entering back at Hyper Speed, they instead go back in time 150 years, that actually takes them 150 years hence the crew died out due to some Worm Hole event that caused this.... so that 150 years backwards had past, which is why the crew who was on duty are mummified and some of the Cryo-Pods Failed.

Thats just a basic idea i had came into my head the other week, well Thursday lol

Just to say, been working under the hood of ALIEN: Manticore, and the entire 'block' of the story where they're on and about LV-223 is undergoing extensive additions, building-up and editing as with all the recent treasures of info and inspiring tidbits I can now really bring some serious weight into things.

And for those of you like the Hammerpede...well, ever wonder what 40+ years of exposure to the leakage of the Urns would do to the evolution and development of a species?

Also, I've been pondering the Deacon's fate, and I think I have an idea that works. :)

Well, the Block-edit and rebuild is credited largely to the forum members here, like yourself and the gents who gave us that pure Muse-fuel in the form of the Animated Series!! :D

I'm just trying to work out and meld from the various delicious tidbits the elements that work best together and mesh with the story and the R. Scott Alienverse. So, i'm kinda-sorta a 'seamstress'. :D

Made the mistake of letting a close friend read an excerpt, and well, I'm responsible for her nightmares that cost her a night's sleep...a blame I happily share with the rest of you as it was a 'group effort' after all. :D

She's NOT mad, and told me (as I refer such to you all now) that her having nightmares should be taken as a Compliment. :D

I love your story BigDave. I had a blast to read them. Your Alien Ascension story reminded me a bit of the Alien Out of the Shadows book. You know the elements like the mining workers finding some rare material, and a ship. But I love it. Keep on the good work.

That was one reason I was a bit disappointed with Prometheus. I thought the Hammerpedes where an interesting concept and I would have loved to see more of them and be explained a bit further then only shown for a few seconds.
