MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 11:52 AMHas the thought ever occurred that there just might be more than one LV426? Given the amount of debate whether it is a planet or a moon, I thought it might be worth digging a little deeper into how the number system works, and came across this.
Source: Alien Anthology Wiki
The designation LV-426 is not scientifically accurate. Lima Vector or Lagrange Vector and 3 coordinates to specify which moon of a planetary body is being referred to. In reality this is not a correct designation (as a myriad of satellites around any planet could have the same three digit number (which is not a vector notation). The correct astronomical nomenclature for LV-426 would be: S/2039 (ζ2 Ret IV) 2.
So according to this, there could be multiple LV 426’s in the universe, but only one S/2039 (ζ2 Ret IV) 2.
Thoughts anyone

As far as however the site of the Derelict then indeed this is just in that one location in the Zeta 2 Reticuli system
