What does the pathogen actually do to them, disintegrate them partially or turn them rabies mode? I think there may be a plasma shot against the juggernaut which makes it crash nearby and fries those beneath...are there any survivors then, did they fly out or head off to a safe place in the planet? Surely this will be another unanswered question as usual..David is one psychotic robot, not to mention a narcissist. Did he lie about feeling thankful for being created? One could see him crying with emotions then, does he not have a sense of fear, compassion, empathy.
I feel David saw something within the ship's info, pondered and decided to commit and act of war, only a war mindset enables such cruel force of action, like American drones strikes in the middle east, like the recent bombings of Syria. These are acts of war, true genocide on the other hand is what Engineers do. Why is David wanting to create the alien Engineers fear and revere like we saw on the mural? Does he want to use them in a cosmic war? He knows something is still ahead...Where the aliens brought back by David to use as a weapon against Engineers and maybe humans too.
