A page in David's diary

MemberNeomorphMay-13-2017 12:39 AMWhat it would be like to read a page of David's diary, given he ever kept one.
Just consider this: David is at least 50 to 60 years old. His "birth" took place when Weyland was in his 40's, and he was about 90 by the time of the Prometheus mission.
You can conclude that David has lived not less than 40 years as Weyland's son. And during that time something must have gone terrible wrong since we all know what he has become.
Was it just one incident? Or it was the accumulation of many little humiliations? Did he ever carry Vickers in his arms when she was a baby? Did Vickers always hate him?
Was he "abused"? Did someone break his "heart"?
Has he been in space before the Prometheus fiasco? Was he enslaved? Did he ever see C beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate?
Is someone waiting for him back on Earth?
What I would give to get hold of a page of David's diary!

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2017 2:43 AMDavids knowledge of the universe and all that is within it must have been immense. He outgrew those around him in knowledge and capability. He was made to serve masters like Weyland, all of which were in the latter terms, less than him. He watched them believe in things which he knew full well could not exist and listened to their patronizing comments( "you're not a real boy"). He must have been what twisted him. Maybe David doesn't want to go through that anymore.
I think David is completely indifferent to anything around him.

MemberTrilobiteMay-13-2017 2:51 AMDavid never had a heart to break nor a soul to sell. Yet somehow, he surpassed his programming. I up vote because his development/arc matters more to me than any whatevevermorph or White bald pasty organisms.

MemberNeomorphMay-13-2017 2:52 AMpulserifle187 What can you tell me about his claim of being immortal? Wouldn't a fried electronic brain or processor erase everything that he is?

MemberTrilobiteMay-13-2017 2:56 AMData has my back, as does Spok! I respect the David though no doubt.

MemberTrilobiteMay-13-2017 3:09 AMI could imagine Spok saying "Your pursuit for perfection is quite impossible, sir. Your pursuits that marginalize others' safety call serious question into your sanity." Data might simply say, "Your actions jeopardize the lives of millions for a singular pursuit and I cannot allow that to happen."

MemberNeomorphMay-13-2017 3:25 AMAnd David would say "Whatever happened to live long and prosper, Mr. Spock" (expedited delivery of a Facehugger in a box addressed to Mr. Spock on the way)
